Go for Bravo

The XBox 360 has been permanently moved downstairs. My Wii is hooked back up to our main TV. Now I can watch my anime series from Netflix on the Wii. I do this every day at lunch. Good times.

Previously I had been watching Bravo, an anime series about a boy that became allergic to girls. I was on the second season of the series when the XBox 360 displaced me. Well I am back and have finished the series.

I have been searching for the next anime series for me to watch. I queued up about 10 of them on Netflix. Five of the ten seem superior. I will narrow it down to one. Each day at lunch I will watch one episode from the series. These will keep me busy as each season can be anwhere from 12 to 24 episodes.

XBox 360 Setup

Our new Xbox 360 from Christmas was hooked up to our main TV. But usually the TV is being used. Plus that meant my Wii was disconnected (I use the Wii to view Netflix videos). My solution was to buy another big screen TV, which I did. But I was sick. So setup had to wait.

Slowly I started cleaning out the basement. It was a mess down there. Kit Kat helped me move a dresser to hold the TV. I assembled the TV this week. It had been in its box for a while. Then I hooked everything up. One bad coax cable had me puzzled for a day.

Today I finally moved down the XBox 360 to the basement TV. I played my Finaly Fantasy XIII game. It is sweet. Still need to arrange the furniture by the TV, and do some final cleanup. But the gaming system is a go.

Little Kat had been on restriction for the last week because he hid some laundry he was supposed to do. But I think he gets electronics priviledges back today. I bet he will be down there playing his new Skyrim game for XBox 360. He also bought Rage fort he XBox 360 as well. We are definitely reading to take full advantage of the XBox.

Unplugged

We got the Xbox 360 with Kinect gaming system for Christmas. I think we let Little Kat set it up and connect it to our TV. I had him show me how to start it up so I could play my new Final Fantasy XIII game. Worked pretty good.

These days I am working from home. Each day I go out and buy a lunch. Then I take it back home to watch some anime while I eat. I use our Wii system to access Netflix video on demand. Today I grabbed the Wii controller and noticed that the Wii got moved.

I traced the video wires from the Wii and found they were unplugged. Little Kat is using the TV connection for the Xbox 360 now. Looks like we need to do something about this. It costs money to get online with the Xbox and use Netflix.

Our current thinking is to get a new TV downstairs that is big enough to hook up the Xbox 360. That will have the added benefit of a secure floor on which the kids can jump for gaming. Just need to buy a big TV and stand for it.

Rained Out

Yesterday I raced home from work for our scheduled tennis session. There was some rain on the way home. Momoko advised us to stay at home and exercise with the Wii. I said we should be hard core and go for the tennis. We drove to the tennis court, and it looked a bit dark.

We got the rackets and tennis balls out. There were some rain drops coming down. Kit Kat was chirping about the rain. Momoko complained that she was going to get wet. Duh. By the time we finished out first set of tennis, the rain was coming down. Momoko was complaining before the rain came down. So I did not object to us going home right then and there.

Little Kat was surpising in that he did not complain about the weather. He said he liked rain. He also had a ball cap that protected him from getting water in his face. Today we also had tennis scheduled in the afternooon. However Momokok and Little Kat did not come home on time. I wonder if this had anything to do with the weatherman calling for rain again today.

Relient K Christmas

Kit Kat postponed having her friends over for Friday. So the kids decided to decorate the tree instead. Momoko had me put on some Christmas videos on the TV. The best one was one Sleigh Ride by Relient K. You got to see it.

Momoko bought a new Polar Express train for under the tree. The train is more trouble than it is worth. It falls off the track a lot. The track gets messed up when people step on it. Fail.

Now it is Saturday. Kit Kat's friends have come over to spend the night. The girls are playing Wii. Perhaps Momoko and I will play with Little Kat to get him out of their way. Scrabble anyone?

Slacker School

The rain cleared up today. So the family had plans to play tennis for exercise this afternoon. Kit Kat, Little Kat, and Momoko were off from school. However Momoko needed to unpack a lot of boxes at school. So she brought the kids to her school to help her out.

I got off from work on time to make sure I could make it to tennis. When I got home, nobody else was here. That was strange. Momoko said she only had a half day worth of work to do at school. So I read the paper and browsed the web.

Later the rest of the family came home. There was a lot of moaning. The unpacking of boxes turned out to be a big job. Now everyone was too tired to exercise on the tennis court. There was some crazy talk about playing Wii tennis instead of the real tennis court. But even that seems like it may be in jeopardy.

So much for the playground exercise idea.

Get Physical

Today we had a family games night. The kids picked out Apples to Apples for us to play. Normally we play the junior version because the words are easier. This time we used the big cat version. Kit Kat won after 30 minutes of play.

Momoko had set aside 1 hour for us to do games. What were we going to do with the extra time? Kit Kat wanted to play on the Wii. I suggested we spend a little while exercising.

At the beginning of this year, we exercised regularly as a family. We got it up to 30 minutes of exercise a day. This was mostly Momoko, Kit Kat, and myself. Somehow we got off track around March. Momoko and Kit Kat said I was the reason we stopped. I cannot recall the details. However if I was the reason for the stop, I will make it my business to start it back up again.

Nobody likes to exercise. It is no fun. It hurts. But you know what they say? No pain no gain. I told the family we could start small and exercise for 5 minutes. How could they say no to that? They tried. But I insisted. We ended up exercising for 7 minutes. Tomorrow I plan to make the family exercise for 6 minutes. Who knows? We might even go longer. The only trouble is that we have 3 exercise machines. I think we can find a way to get a 4th machine. It is a little tight on space in the basement. But for a healthy family, I think we can find a way.

Just Dancing

Somehow the family got off track on our New Year's exercise program. We were supposed to work out 30 minutes each day on our exercise equipment. First Momoko hurt her leg. Then Kit Kat got sick. The result is that we are no longer exercising.

Just yesterday we got back into working out on the exercise equipment. So today I asked Kit Kat if we were going to continue for the second day in a row. She wanted to play the new Just Dance Wii game we got. To her that is exercise. The benefit is that Momoko can dance with us, but do it from a sitting position to protect her injured leg.

This crazy dance game is hard to keep up with. Kit Kat seems to get the high score a lot. At least they got some good songs in the game. In other news, I pushed Kit Kat to take the longest practice drive ever today. Things were going fine until the final drive home. Kit Kat stopped at the stop sign, but did not see the big truck coming with the right of way. Kit Kat pulled out. We got lucky that the truck slowed down and did not ram us.

I am still lobbying for Kit Kat to go out into traffic. She still just wants to travel the back roads and secondary streets. That is fine ... for now.

School's Out

OK, I am getting a little tired of the snow. Everything is white again. We had the cars dug out and now we are back where we started. We haven't had mail or newspaper delivery since Friday. They have canceled school until Tuesday and we are trying to keep ourselves busy. We have been playing family games both board games and the Wii. Kit said she couldn't wait for school to get started because sometimes you need a break from your family. In other words, she has had enough of us...tsk..tsk

School Plans

Tonight Momoko and Kit Kat went to the high school. There was a meeting to plan out Kit Kat's classes next year. She needs to do some type of internship. And she has to take an advanced placement class. Sounds hard.

I tried to catch a nap. But Little Kat was playing Mario Bros on the Wii. Thus there was a lot of noise. No chance of getting any shut eye. Somehow Little Kat lost our game progress and power ups. Shame shame.

Tomorrow I get the day off because I worked last weekend. I am picking up Kit Kat from school. Check you lata.

Getting Off Work!

Little Kat was sick during the night. He still had an upset tummy and last a slight fever when I checked on him this morning. I decided to let him stay home but I knew I needed to be here to take care of him. He might not get enough rest if there were visions of Wii, unattended in the house. It is hard to get off work at the last minute and I had to administer a test (which Little would be missing by staying home). I arranged for a half day absence and asked my boss if I could get off any sooner. She said I could go home right away and she would find someone to give my test but I figured I was already at school so I might as well stay a little longer. I also knew Black was at home for a little while. I ended up getting off earlier than I had expected and made it home a few minutes after Black left. Little was snug in bed but was feeling better. He was able to keep some food down and he even worked on a little homework. I will be watching him today to decide if I will be taking another day off.

Rock On!

Kit got a Guitar Hero game for the Wii with her Christmas money. She tried it out today and she really rocked the room. Little went to bed before she performed her mega concert so he will have to catch her later. He was eying her guitar before he went to bed and I am sure he will be sneaking her guitar to play in secret while she is sleeping. I am sure he will need her help to figure it out so I am not too worried about him lurking in the shadows. Rock on my KITTIES!!!

Secret Wii Game

Yesterday we unpacked our new Wii. We tried to play as many games as possible to get a little taste of what they were like. We had a good time but we did not have time to play any game too long. After the boys went to bed, Kit and I played MarioKart and Super Mario Brothers. We had a blast playing together even though we stayed up very, very, very late. I am not sure if the Wii is going to help with our productivity but I guaranteed to be fun trying to balance work and play!

Home Sweet Home

We just got back from visiting Grannie & Papa Kat. We had a great time and wished we could stay longer but school starts Monday. We are a little tired from the flight but happy to be home. The first order of business is to unpack and go to the store and buy some yummies. Then we will catch up on some movies and try to squeeze in some Wii.

The Tree is Up

Last weekend the cats tried to put up the Christmas tree. However some technical difficulties with the lights caused a slight delay. This weekend they came back in full force. The tree is now up.

The star at the top of the tree is dim. But we can live with that. The hardest part seemed to be fitting all the presents under the tree. And I have not even wrapped the gifts I am giving.

I think Little Kat decorated our front door as well. We don't need too much. We are going out of town for Christmas. Personally I am looking forward to a "Wii" Christmas. Do you know what I am saying?
