We are PCs

Today Momoko said she saw an advertisement for a laptop. The cost was $299. She asked if that was a good price. Kit Kat and my laptops went for $279. So the one being advertised was close. Momoko decided to go for it. Her school is changing from Mac to PC. She needs the practice at home now.

I worked out in the yard cutting grass for about three hours today. It was a tough heat. By the time I came in, I was ready to pass out. Luckily I drank a lot of fluids so I did not die. I did take a nap after a nice shower. Momoko comes in and tells me she got the laptop. Good news. The price was $279. Even better than $299.

Now Momoko is setting up her laptop. We just need her to use the darn thing instead of the Mac that she is used to. Microsoft, Intel, and the PC continue to take over the world.

Gutters and Curbs

We had to cancel tennis late this week due to rain. I went and raked up some leaves on the backyard hill. It was hard because the rain was coming down when I did it. The leaves were very heavy due to being wet.

Today I came home and decided to do more leaf removal for exercise. First I raked the leaves out of the curbs in front of the house. Those leaves were wet too. Then I climbed the ladder and scooped the leaves out of the gutters in front of the house. That was hard because I had to keep moving the ladder to reach all the gutters.

I hope the weather is good this weekend. Then the family can come out and support me in removing the leaves from the front lawn. It might sound easy. But the leaves have invaded our gardens. Got to remove the leaves without pulling out all the mulch.

Missing in Action

I was out mowing the lawn as usual this afternoon. Trying to beat the rain that is supposed to come this weekend. I was on the side of the house. Saw Momoko's car drive up. I assumed the kids were with her.

Later I finished my work and came in the house. Momoko was dozing off on the couch. Went upstairs and saw Kit Kat on her bed using her laptop. But Little Kat's room was dark. I found that odd.

I asked out loud where Little Kat was. Kit Kat outed him. He was hiding under a purple blanket behind Kit Kat on her bed. What the heck? I was too tired and sweaty from working out to investigate. Typical Little Kat shenanigans.

Gangster at the Door

I spent the whole afternoon digging up dandelion roots. At the end, I tried some Weed-B-Gone on the rest of the lawn. I figured I would give it a try, and compare the result to the side of the lawn where I dug up the roots.

Then I hear some gangster rap music. I figure it is somebody just driving by. But the music persists. The driver stops at my next door neighbor's house. The rap music continues so I take a look. It is coming from a white minivan. Hello? A minivan does not give you any street credit.

Out pops a tall dude. He pulls out a stack of pizza boxes. I figure he must have the wrong address. There is nobody home. I know because I have been here all afternoon weeding, and the neighbors are still at work. Then the tall dude walks towards me. What?

I ask the dude whether he is coming to our house. He replies Yup. Aha. I instruct him to ring the front doorbell. Momoko was tired. And she did not go grocery shopping. So the only thing available for dinner is pizza delivery. As the tall dude leaves, I notice some huge black objects stuffed in his ear lobes. No. They are not in his ear holes. They appear to be over sized earrings that are actually in his ear lobe. Nice. That makes up for driving mommy's minivan.

The Movie 9 Released on 09/09/09

Kit Kat spent the weekend away again. First she went to the Renaissance festival with her friends. Then she spent the night at her friend's house to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was just Momoko, Little Kat, and myself at home.

Momoko was sick yesterday. Today she was just too busy. I had to mow the massive lawn today. Little Kat ended up playing video games. Luckily the cat next door was alone and wanted to play. I had Little Kat come out and they played all afternoon.

Momoko thought Little Kat should get some good since Kit Kat was partying this weekend. But like I said before Momoko was busy. I ended up taking Little Kat to the show to see "9". This was a Tim Burton movie. I got some nachos. Little Kat got popcorn and candy. We also both got some Slurpee drinks. We enjoyed the movie. I thought it was a bit on the scary side. Little Kat said it was tame.
