Warehouse Pickup

Today I planned to pick up our new dishwasher at the store's warehouse. My sales associate gave me printed directions on how to get to the store. I was going to drop by the warehouse at lunch. But a meeting ran late through lunch time.

Next I figured I would go after work to pick up the washer. Guess what? Another meeting was running late. Luckily my meetings are all using conference calls over the phone. I participated in the meeting, but then just dropped off after about an hour. Let's hope they don't miss me.

I was thinking ahead and brought my truck to work. I followed the instructions on the paper. It had me following a road through many turns. I got to one stoplight and realized I needed to make a right turn. Good thing there was no traffic because I made that right turn from the middle lane.

Then I took a drive and my instincts told me I needed to go right. I could not find any street signs at the intersections. I decided to trust my spider sense and turned around. Yep. I had missed a critical turn. Once I got to the warehouse, it was very easy to get my big package. Now let's get this thing installed. That's a story for another time though.

Lost Without my Planner

Last night we had some scheduling business to take care of. One of the cats brought down my daytimer. This planner hold my money, as well as my life. It lists all the things I need to do each day. It also has all the work meetings I need to attend. Somehow my planner got left downstairs last night. Trouble.

I woke up tired this morning. My planner was not on my dresser. So I left without it. Ouch. The planner is my wallet which holds my driver's license. It also has all my cache. I knew I was in trouble when I could not find the call in number to my first meeting of the day.

So I gathered up all my computers and papers at work, then headed home. Sure enough the planner was downstairs where I left it last night. I was so hungry by the time I got home. But there was no time to run out and get some carry out. My next meeting was starting soon. The moral of the story is to always return the planner to either my back pocket, or the top of my dresser upstairs. Otherwise doom is near at hand.

Working Day

Veteran's Day was a work day for both Momoko and myself. Kit Kat and Little Kat stayed home because there was no school. The night before I worked until 11:00PM. So I figured I could leave work early around 3:30 then next day.

I got home and thought about raking leaves. But it was raining and I was tired. Kit Kat got a call from Momoko. She had meetings all day and still had a lot of work to do. Kit Kat, Little Kat, and I got in the car and drove to school. We helped Momoko put her classroom in order. There was a lot of furniture to move around. Some gerbils caused something of a distraction to the kids.

We finally got out of there. Momoko and I decided we should eat out since it was already late. So we headed to the local Mexican restaurant. As usual, we got some cheese sauce for our chips. But the dip was hot with a lot of jalapenos. Our plan was to get home and watch Transformers 2. However it was too late. All in all a busy Veteran's Day.
