Cat and Mouse

Little Kat got me a nice pair of grippy gloves for Christmas. I put them out in the shed before visiting Grannie Cat. When we got back from our trip, I found that a mouse had chewed up the right glove. It was totally useless now. Time for Black Cat's revenge.

I got some delicious cheese and baited a trap. However this was a smart mouse. He ate the cheese without springing the trap. So I got a bigger piece of cheese and moved the trap slightly. This morning I found that the trap got him. Poor little guy. I don't mind him hiding in my shed. But don't eat up my new gloves.

My old truck seems to have tires that lost a lot of air this winter. One tire seemed flat. I went to Citgo to fill up the tires with air. Luckily I have a digital tire pressure reader. All four tires got filled to proper inflation. Then I tried to get some gas. The pumps were out of service. I drove to Exxon and found their pumps out of service too. I thought something might be going on. And I was forced to go fill up at the Evil Shell. Let's hope their gas does not kill my truck.

How Low Can You Go?

Seems that I got a $24 check from the lottery and I had to deposit it in the bank. So my adventure started with me heading for the bank. I backed out of the driveway and I noticed a warning light on my dash. I always get a little nervous when I see lights on my dashboard. I had to pull over and take out the auto manual to figure out what the warning light was for. It was my tire sensor. I guess one of my tires was a little low. I got out and checked all four tires and noticed that my passenger front tire looked a little lower but nothing to be worried about. I headed to the nearest gas station nevertheless. I do not do a lot of mechanical things with my car so even putting air into a tire is pretty intense. I was able to check the tires and the front passenger tire was a little low but not as low as the back passengers tire. I guess it was the one that was low all along. Sad I couldn't tell and my car could. I do not know if I like my car knowing more than me. Well, the tires are properly inflated now and let's hope it's not a slow leak. I made it to the bank, grocery store, and back home again.

Faulty Alarm

It was the last night of our vacation. We had a big celebration at the local Golden Corral restaurant. They grilled me up a delicious steak there. Little Kat mad an evil creation for dessert. I got clam chowder by mistake (the labels were not clear). Our bus boy worked extra hard for a big tip.

Since we needed to check out early the next morning, I had Mamma Kat set the alarm. She needed to get up in the middle of the night, and in the early morning. Around 4:15am I heard a faint sound. It was the alarm. But it was so quiet that Mamma Kat slept through it.

I woke up Mamma Kat. She took care of some business, then went back to bed. I was worried we would oversleep. So I decided to stay up. It was hard. At 8:00am the whole family got up. I kept falling asleep on the way home. We saw what looked to be a dangerous truck on the road. It was hauling old tires. But they were piled high to the sky. We made it home in good time. Our vacation is just about over.
