Biking Ups and Downs

This weekend Little Kat brought his bike out of the shed. He cleaned it off, oiled it with WD-40, and pumped up the tires. Looks like he got bored riding the bike by himself. So he also restored Kit Kat's bike as well. I went out and got my bike ready. That's when I found Little Kat riding without his helmet.

We got a helmet on his head, then I rode with Little Kat in the cul de sac. The abandoned house across the street has a steep driveway. If you ride down it, you can gain a lot of speed. I needed to get back to my weekend work. So I came in leaving Little Kat still riding. Later Little Kat banged on the door. I locked him out by mistake. He had taken a spill, and cut his hand and leg. Kit Kat helped patch him up.

I don't think Little Kat got hurt too bad. We were out riding again today. Little Kat was still "borrowing" Kit Kat's bike. We expanded out of the cul de sac and rode down the street. I found another cul de sac and tried to ride up it. Too bad. It was a steep street. Half way up the hill, we turned around and came home. This time I brought Little Kat in when I stopped riding. Momoko wanted to prevent another injury.

Job Hunting

Kit Kat spied on a new donut shop opening up at the local strip mall. She needs a job so she went inquiring. They are hiring. So Kit Kat filled out an application. They are supposed to call her back to schedule an interview. Little Kat is very excited for some reason. I guess he thinks he will be getting fresh free donuts.

Speaking of donuts, Momoko and Kit Kat picked up two boxes of donuts at the store last weekend. The only problem is that they are the double chocolate kind I don't like. Now I am all for getting donuts when they go on sale. But I would like some donuts that I actually enjoy. At least they bought me some bakery cookies. It is not the same though.

Here Comes the Rain Again

The family was busy playing iPhone games this morning and early afternoon. Eventually I said we needed to go outside and do our work. Kit Kat and Momoko used the jig saw to cut some wood. Little Kat and I used the drill to unscrew and remove some temporary wood, and to secure the new wood. This was all for our large firewood holder in the carport.

The rain came down hard so we could not do any of the normal yard work today. Little Kat and I proceeded to Target for shopping. Today is the launch date for Pokemon black edition which Little Kat has been waiting for. He purchased a copy at Target. We were so into trying to get that Pokemon black that I forgot to pick up my Hannah Montana 2-DVD special pack with book. On the way home we used a coupon to buy roast beef and cheddar sandwiches for the whole family.

Celebi Saturday

Today Little Kat and I went to the game store. He wanted to download a free Pokemon character named Celebi. You could only do that within the store. Little Kat brought his Nintendo DSi XL to the store. He could not figure out how to get the character so we asked for some help. It was complicated. You had to ran the Pokemon game and navigate through all these menus.

I was a little disappointed with the store. They did not carry any games for the PC. On the ride home, Little Kat could not find Celebi on his Nintendo DS. I told him he better look harder because we drove a long way to get the darn thing. He determined that he needed to defeat an enemy before he could take ahold of Celebi in the game.

On the way home, I took a detour to another store. They had PC games. Every game (and everything else in the store) was $5 or less. I picked up two computer games. Little Kat picked up a few items himself. He bought a 12,000 lumens flashlight. We compared it to my little LED flashlight. My poor flashlight got owned. Maybe mine is 5,000 lumens. Little Kat wins in a power failure.

Dinner and Couches

Yesterday I worked from home. There were some big problems at work. I thought my dinner plans might be in jeopardy. We got lucky. For dinner I headed down into town. I drove around for a while to find a parking space. Eventually I gave up and paid for garage parking. The company sponsored a dinner to celebrate our work last year.

Today I also worked from home. Momoko and the kids were off from school. They all slept in. I got up early to get working. First order of business was to get the dishwasher repaired. It was a small latch change. But the guy seemed to have a tough time for the job. Then I finished up my work and tried to stay away for the couch delivery guys. They were coming in the late afternoon or evening. I saw the truck drive up so I opened up our front double doors.

One Hercules delivery guy carried the couches to the front door. Bamm. He did have a helper navigate the couches into our living room. They each have a lot of cushion. Both are black leather to match the black recliners. We are still figuring out how to arrange everything in here. I spent a lot of time breaking down all the cardboard and bagging all the plastic that came with the couches. I hope these bad boys last us until Little Kat goes to college.

Bulky Trash

Today Momoko got word that the bulky trash men are coming tomorrow to take out couch. So the family had to move our heavy couch out to the curb.

I wish I knew we needed to do this earlier. We did our exercise today. That meant we danced to an exhausting Zumba game on the Wii. Since I was crazy, I followed that up with 30 minutes on the stationary bike.

Both Kit Kat and I rearranged the vehicle so they were all parked in the driveway. Then we turned our old couch upside down. Then we dragged the thing out the front door, over the grass, over to the curb. We usually store up big trash for times when the special trash guys come out. So we all hauled the other heavy trash and piled it up on the curb.

App Time

I finally got around to playing some of the apps I downloaded to my iPhone. I thought they would be really good since I chose them from web pages which featured the top iPhone app games. However I found a lot of the games lacking.

Some of the games just did not work well. Fail. Others were complicated or required a lot of my time (Zombie Farm). Goodbye. Then there were some that were hard. I hate it when I can't get past the third screen no matter how hard I try.

There were some gems. One game let's you drop coins to make coins fall out of the front of the machine. I love it and am hooked. They entice you download other games to "earn" more coins. I confess that I downloaded a few games to get my coin fix.
