Bit by Bit

Little Kat had me order him some tool kits from Amazon. It seemed strange that he wanted a bunch of specialized tools. I got sick and was staying down in our guest bedroom to keep the rest of the family well. Little Kat came down and told me he wanted to look inside some of the packages I got in the mail. Turns out the first box I let Little Kat open were his tools. He put them aside for about a week.

We were out of Robitusson. However we had purchased a bunch of DayQuil under guidance from Little Kat. He was such a forward thinker. Just as I started to get well again, Little Kat told me he wanted us to take apart Kit Kat's hard drive from her broke down computer. This hard drive was a tough nut to crack. It required 3 sizes of screwdrivers that looked like a star. It was no problem for Little Kat. He had multiple tool kits to draw from. He opened the hard drive up. The thing had lots of cool stuff inside like a shiny disk, a super powerful magnet, and a bunch of computer chips. Good job Little Kat.

Birthday Boy

We went to a buffet today for lunch. It was to celebrate Little Kat's birthday. He said he likes the buffet because they have chocolate milk. Strange. Momoko loves their cabbage. Kit Kat was looking for clam chowder, but had to settle for their potato crisps. Me, I like their salad bar.

After lunch we headed home to open presents. I gave Little Kat some binoculars. This was in addition to the cell phone cover I gave him earlier this week. Momoko got Little Kat a TI-84 Plus calculator. It is the one they use in school. Little Kat was a bit disappointed. Kit Kat game him some Nintendo DS accessories. Up until this is was an ok birthday. But then Kit Kat snuck upstairs, and brought down Momoko's real gift. It was a Nintendo DSi XL.

Man this thing looks cool. It is almost like a netbook computer. Little Kat browsed the web. He also used some funny apps to draw on top of people's pictures. The thing has a camera on it. So Little Kat is dangerous. The DSi XL turned out to be the best birthday gift ever according to Little Kat. He later cleaned up with some cash and other gifts from my family. Things are looking up for the little guy.

Tough Weekend

This was a tough weekend. I had to work on Saturday and Sunday. Whew. The good news is after work on Saturday, I went out and picked up a new printer for the family.

The printer is a bit odd. It consumes a lot of electricity. The lights dim when it is printing. Once when I printed 4 pages in a row, it caused the power to my computer to be shut off. But hey. It has toner and it prints fast.

Kit Kat had a tough weekend as well. She started a Windows security update. Then she went to cook us dinner. When she got back, her computer was toast. The thing won't boot, even when she chooses Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration. Help.
