Late for School

I have been sleeping downstairs in the guest bedroom because I am sick. I needed to get to work early this morning. So I set my alarm clock last night. It was scheduled to go off at the same time when Kit Kat's bus comes to pick her up.

Momoko and Little Kat usually leave very early in the morning. So if I hear anybody in the house when I wake up, it is Kit Kat. I was a bit disturbed that I heard noise in the house when I woke up. It took a few minutes for me to get out of bed. I kept hearing somebody upstairs making noise. And I figured Kit Kat was going to miss her bus.

I came upstairs to find out what the heck was going on. Nobody was in the house. I looked outside and saw Momoko and Little Kat buring rubber on the road. Aha. They were really late. Kit Kat must have went to school on time. Weird.

Bit by Bit

Little Kat had me order him some tool kits from Amazon. It seemed strange that he wanted a bunch of specialized tools. I got sick and was staying down in our guest bedroom to keep the rest of the family well. Little Kat came down and told me he wanted to look inside some of the packages I got in the mail. Turns out the first box I let Little Kat open were his tools. He put them aside for about a week.

We were out of Robitusson. However we had purchased a bunch of DayQuil under guidance from Little Kat. He was such a forward thinker. Just as I started to get well again, Little Kat told me he wanted us to take apart Kit Kat's hard drive from her broke down computer. This hard drive was a tough nut to crack. It required 3 sizes of screwdrivers that looked like a star. It was no problem for Little Kat. He had multiple tool kits to draw from. He opened the hard drive up. The thing had lots of cool stuff inside like a shiny disk, a super powerful magnet, and a bunch of computer chips. Good job Little Kat.

Root Beer Ripoff

Little Kat slept in late this morning. By the time he got up, it was time for us to go shopping. Cokes were not on sales. But Pepsi products were. We picked up 4 twelve packs. There was some other sale in the store for A&W Root Beer. We picked up a couple twelve packs of those sodas too. The cash register guy said he only needed to see one of the packs to ring us up. I like when they do that. Prevents us from having to lift all the heavy boxes out of the cart.

Later when I was home, I was paying my bills. I was shocked to find that they overcharged me for the soda. It was supposed to be $3 per twelve pack. Instead they charged me something like $5.69 per twelve pack. Fail. I got Little Kat and we drove straight back to the store. They had suspiciously removed the sale sign from the A&W Root Beer display. Regardless I went to customer service and told them what happened. They tried to tell me that A&W was not on sale. I agreed that it might not be on sale in their circular, nor in their scanner system. But I could testify that their huge sign above the drinks clearly stated $3 each this morning. In the end we prevailed. I got back the $17 I overpaid earlier today. Little Kat and I then hauled out of there to make it home in time for Kit Kat's onion covered pork chops.

You Got 12 Viruses

I was busy doing a few loads of laundry yesterday. It was a bit of catch up from last weekend. In the middle, Kit Kat said she needed help. Her computer was telling her that she had 12 viruses detected. Kit Kat previously had been infected with some scam that tried to get her to buy a $70 antivirus software. This time it was not as bad. She got stuck on a web site that took control of Firefox. We got it unstuck in a few minutes.

On a more positive note, last weekend we installed a towel holder in the kids bathroom for Kit Kat to hang her hand towel. Momoko got jealous. So we bought another one for her own private towel. I tried to let Little Kat do the work of hanging the new holder. He first had to relocate the tooth paste holder. He punched some holes in the wall for the anchors. He had some trouble tightening the final screw. We also had a lot of trouble with the towel holder. Turns out we installed the thing in the wrong direction. It was never going to work under we figured out to reorient it the right way. Little Kat is becoming a little carpenter slowly.

Winning

Today Little Kat and I went on the marathon shopping spree. It was not a fun one. We had to buy things for the house. Little Kat did score a iTunes card though.

It took us a long time to decide on a pair of saw horses that Momoko wanted. At first Little Kat recommend some light plastic horses that were very adjustable. They were also flimsy. Then Little Kat thought we should go with the industrial strength ones. They were just too darn heavy. We ended up with some lighter steel ones.

Kit Kat and Momoko put the finishing touches on our firewood holder. They painted the front white to conceal it from people on the street. On thing left to do is for me to order some firewood. On a final note, I continue to search out derivative works of the Charlie Sheen "Winning" auto tune. Look at the original from the Gregory Brothers, as well as the extended edition. Peace.

I'm Lovin It

I watched a long movie this afternoon. So afterwards I was hungry for dinner. The quickest option was to go to McDonalds. There was a Ferrari in front of me in the drive through. When I got up to the drive through station to order, they told me to come inside because their machine was not working.

Once inside, I found out people were getting served in the drive through. WTF? Apparently it was a temporary glitch. I took advantage of some things they have inside. You get to serve yourself drinks. And you can get all the sauces you want.

At night Little Kat wanted to share some of the sweet tea that Momoko had. I thought there was no need to share. Because Little Kat and I could just go to McDonalds. We picked up a meal for Little Kat. I got a burger, and Momoko got another sweet tea. Now we can't do this every day. But Momoko and Little Kat painted our bathroom today. They deserved a break.

New Dragons

We recently got two new couches in the living room. That caused us to reorganize the furniture. Now this caused two parts of the wall to become exposed. All the other walls have dragon posters on them. Momoko told me we needed new dragon posters.

I got the dragon posters from Amazon. They came in a secure container. Then I found that we did not have any more thumb tacks to put up the posters. Momoko picked up some tacks. I had been working on the wallpaper in the bathroom. So I put Momoko and Kit Kat on the job to put up the new posters.

One of the posters was a bit wild. There was a dragon with a naked fairy on it. I had Momoko and Kit Kat put that poster in the a spot where it would blend in. Kit Kat got a chair in a tight corner to stand high enough to mount the next poster.

The final poster was next to one of the windows. There was no easy way to fit a chair in there. Kit Kat tried to stand up on the recliner. The thing tried to recline when she was on top. All I heard was a scream. Luckily she got ahold of something and did not fall off. Our living room is now complete. Two new sofas. Two new dragon posters.

Stony Drums are Winning

I can't seem to get enough of Schmoyoho's auto tune of Charlie Sheen interviews. They take a bunch of quotes from Charlie, add some music, and mix it all up. Many people have tried to do the same. But only Schmoyoho rules with their talent.

There are some people who add stuff on top of Schmoyoho's song. One of them is Stony. See his picture above. He played the drums along with the song. This guy has some massive drum skills. He loves to use the cymbals. I bet Stony is going to be a famous drummer some day. Check out his video.

Dozed

Coin Dozer is my favorite game on the iPhone. You decide when to toss coins down on the board. A bulldozer pushes the coins back toward you. If the coin push other coins to fall in the chute in front of you, then you get more coins.

I like the clink sound the game makes when I drop coins. I love the sound when a huge bonus coin drops down and all the coins bounce into the chute. Yesterday night something went wrong. The sound in the game stopped working. I restarted the game, and even turned the iPhone on and off. The sound was gone. Sound still worked for other games.

Momoko told me I should just uninstall the game, reinstall it, and it should be cleared up. She was right. In addition, I got a big coin bonus when I reinstalled the game. It must have cashed in all the prizes I collected. Oh. I did not mention the prizes? They randomly drop, and you must push them into the chute too. If you have an iPhone, you must try Coin Dozer. They have a free lite version which I continue to play every day.

Park Surprise

Kit Kat needed to practice her parking. So Momoko planned to take her to the parking lot of the local park. Little Kat and I joined them. I packed the basketball, footballs, and tennis equipment so Little Kat and I could work out.

When we got to the park, Little Kat said he did not sign up for any tennis. He came to the park to play on the jungle gym. Wut? I had to sit on the bench as Little Kat had his fun. Some parts of the jungle gym were a bit tough for Little Kat. I guess he is not ready for Wipeout just yet.

I spied on the guys playing basketball. They were not that good at shooting baskets. Only 1 or 2 of the ten guys could make shots well. But they were all in pretty good shape. They kept running up and down the courts at full speed. Great exercise. I want some of that.

Tree Attack

A large tree branch fell down in the back yard. It must have been due to some bad storms. The branch was huge. It almost looked like a tree itself. Luckily it was far away from the house. However it did not look good. It was propped up in the air by the branches on the big branch.

Kit Kat and I finally got around to dealing with it today. We decided to cut off some of the branches supporting it. That way it would come down to the ground and not be an eyesore. It was tough work. The branch was not dead wood. I cut through a major branch. Then Kit Kat did too.

I had to bring over the ladder to reach up to another big branch holding up the branch. I finished chopping the big branch. When I pulled away this branch I cut off, the whole big branch (tree) came falling down. Unfortunately it smashed into the ladder damaging it. Now this is a metal heavy duty ladder. The hinged metal that connects the two sides got bent. I tried to bend it back into place since this was a birthday gift to me. I guess it was a good thing it hit the ladder instead of me. This was a huge branch that fell down. Somehow we need to get rid of all these branches in the back yard.

Charlie Sheen has been Songified

I just heard about this video today. Somebody took a Charlie Sheen video, mixed up his words, and made a song that is hilarious. Here are some highlights.

Interview time means questions and answers.
Question: You love to party?
Charlie: What's not to love?
Question: Are you bipolar?
Charlie: I am bi-winning.

Charlie has a lot of great quotes in this song:
  • I'm a total freaking rock star from Mars
  • I have one gear. Go. Epic.
  • Come on bro. I got tiger blood.
  • Borrow my brain? Be like "Dude, can't handle it."

Finally Charlie shares his thoughts on some random items:
Chicken nuggets? Winning.
Bubble gum? Winning.
Slow dancing? Winning.
Breaking the rules of the Geneva Convention? Weak.
Colin Firth? Winning.

Seeing Beastly

The family has been wanting to go to the movies for a while. I am just too busy every weekend. Momoko scheduled us to see Beastly on a Thursday. When today came, Kit Kat looked up the movie times. And I got stuck with driving us in the rain to the theater.

When we got there, some chick in a luxury car almost ran me over as I walked in the crosswalk. We got in the theater at the last minute. But it was a rainy Thursday. So we had some time. I waited for the concessions to bake me a pizza. In the theater, we got our favorite seats on the top row.

The movie was better than I thought it would be. I only wanted to see it because Vanessa Hugens was in it. The rest of the family does not like her. They did a significant change from the original Beauty and the Beast movie. The boys at work thought it was a waste of time to see. I will have to disagree with them tomorrow.

PC Internals

Kit Kat was having major problems with her desktop PC about a year ago. I loaned her my old PC, which was in fine working order. Since then Momoko bought Kit Kat a laptop that is awesome. I was going to throw out Kit Kat's old desktop PC. However Little Kat asked me to save it so he could open it up and learn.

Today Little Kat and I finally got around to peeking inside. Little Kat immediately disconnected the power supply cables, unscrewed it, and removed the power supply. He called it "the battery". Close enough. Then he unscrewed the big CPU fan. It had a huge heat sink under it. Then Little Kat lifted a lever on the motherboard to remove the actual CPU. I was hoping to see "Intel" or "AMD" on the side to identify the manufacturer. But I saw no such markings.

Little Kat then unscrewed the CD ROM and hard disk drives. I ripped off the front of the desktop case. That enabled Little Kat to slide out both CD ROM and hard disk. He showed me a trick with a paper clip to open the CD ROM even when there was no power applied. Little Kat also thought there was some cool magnet inside the hard disk drive. But we ran out of time. He had to go to bed. Tomorrow or Friday we shall pry open the hard drive case. We are also going to disconnect the battery on the motherboard that keeps the clock going.

Biking Ups and Downs

This weekend Little Kat brought his bike out of the shed. He cleaned it off, oiled it with WD-40, and pumped up the tires. Looks like he got bored riding the bike by himself. So he also restored Kit Kat's bike as well. I went out and got my bike ready. That's when I found Little Kat riding without his helmet.

We got a helmet on his head, then I rode with Little Kat in the cul de sac. The abandoned house across the street has a steep driveway. If you ride down it, you can gain a lot of speed. I needed to get back to my weekend work. So I came in leaving Little Kat still riding. Later Little Kat banged on the door. I locked him out by mistake. He had taken a spill, and cut his hand and leg. Kit Kat helped patch him up.

I don't think Little Kat got hurt too bad. We were out riding again today. Little Kat was still "borrowing" Kit Kat's bike. We expanded out of the cul de sac and rode down the street. I found another cul de sac and tried to ride up it. Too bad. It was a steep street. Half way up the hill, we turned around and came home. This time I brought Little Kat in when I stopped riding. Momoko wanted to prevent another injury.

Job Hunting

Kit Kat spied on a new donut shop opening up at the local strip mall. She needs a job so she went inquiring. They are hiring. So Kit Kat filled out an application. They are supposed to call her back to schedule an interview. Little Kat is very excited for some reason. I guess he thinks he will be getting fresh free donuts.

Speaking of donuts, Momoko and Kit Kat picked up two boxes of donuts at the store last weekend. The only problem is that they are the double chocolate kind I don't like. Now I am all for getting donuts when they go on sale. But I would like some donuts that I actually enjoy. At least they bought me some bakery cookies. It is not the same though.

Here Comes the Rain Again

The family was busy playing iPhone games this morning and early afternoon. Eventually I said we needed to go outside and do our work. Kit Kat and Momoko used the jig saw to cut some wood. Little Kat and I used the drill to unscrew and remove some temporary wood, and to secure the new wood. This was all for our large firewood holder in the carport.

The rain came down hard so we could not do any of the normal yard work today. Little Kat and I proceeded to Target for shopping. Today is the launch date for Pokemon black edition which Little Kat has been waiting for. He purchased a copy at Target. We were so into trying to get that Pokemon black that I forgot to pick up my Hannah Montana 2-DVD special pack with book. On the way home we used a coupon to buy roast beef and cheddar sandwiches for the whole family.

Celebi Saturday

Today Little Kat and I went to the game store. He wanted to download a free Pokemon character named Celebi. You could only do that within the store. Little Kat brought his Nintendo DSi XL to the store. He could not figure out how to get the character so we asked for some help. It was complicated. You had to ran the Pokemon game and navigate through all these menus.

I was a little disappointed with the store. They did not carry any games for the PC. On the ride home, Little Kat could not find Celebi on his Nintendo DS. I told him he better look harder because we drove a long way to get the darn thing. He determined that he needed to defeat an enemy before he could take ahold of Celebi in the game.

On the way home, I took a detour to another store. They had PC games. Every game (and everything else in the store) was $5 or less. I picked up two computer games. Little Kat picked up a few items himself. He bought a 12,000 lumens flashlight. We compared it to my little LED flashlight. My poor flashlight got owned. Maybe mine is 5,000 lumens. Little Kat wins in a power failure.

Dinner and Couches

Yesterday I worked from home. There were some big problems at work. I thought my dinner plans might be in jeopardy. We got lucky. For dinner I headed down into town. I drove around for a while to find a parking space. Eventually I gave up and paid for garage parking. The company sponsored a dinner to celebrate our work last year.

Today I also worked from home. Momoko and the kids were off from school. They all slept in. I got up early to get working. First order of business was to get the dishwasher repaired. It was a small latch change. But the guy seemed to have a tough time for the job. Then I finished up my work and tried to stay away for the couch delivery guys. They were coming in the late afternoon or evening. I saw the truck drive up so I opened up our front double doors.

One Hercules delivery guy carried the couches to the front door. Bamm. He did have a helper navigate the couches into our living room. They each have a lot of cushion. Both are black leather to match the black recliners. We are still figuring out how to arrange everything in here. I spent a lot of time breaking down all the cardboard and bagging all the plastic that came with the couches. I hope these bad boys last us until Little Kat goes to college.

Bulky Trash

Today Momoko got word that the bulky trash men are coming tomorrow to take out couch. So the family had to move our heavy couch out to the curb.

I wish I knew we needed to do this earlier. We did our exercise today. That meant we danced to an exhausting Zumba game on the Wii. Since I was crazy, I followed that up with 30 minutes on the stationary bike.

Both Kit Kat and I rearranged the vehicle so they were all parked in the driveway. Then we turned our old couch upside down. Then we dragged the thing out the front door, over the grass, over to the curb. We usually store up big trash for times when the special trash guys come out. So we all hauled the other heavy trash and piled it up on the curb.

App Time

I finally got around to playing some of the apps I downloaded to my iPhone. I thought they would be really good since I chose them from web pages which featured the top iPhone app games. However I found a lot of the games lacking.

Some of the games just did not work well. Fail. Others were complicated or required a lot of my time (Zombie Farm). Goodbye. Then there were some that were hard. I hate it when I can't get past the third screen no matter how hard I try.

There were some gems. One game let's you drop coins to make coins fall out of the front of the machine. I love it and am hooked. They entice you download other games to "earn" more coins. I confess that I downloaded a few games to get my coin fix.
