Fishy Slots

Momoko found this fun slots game for the iPhone called Fishy Slots. No it is not fishy as in suspicous. It had items from the sea on the reels. Momoko plays this game on her iPad mostly. You could say she is addicted. I think I am catching the addiction too.

Sharks are wild in this game. Any shark will clone itself to make the whole column wild. That can get real interesting if you have multiple sharks. I just got a record 78,100 coins from having 3 columns of sharks. You also go to a bonus round if you get three treasure chests anywhere on the screen. The bonus brings you to seven gold chests you must open. If you find keys, they multiply your bonus score.

For the longest time, we had been seeing a progressive icon or two. You need at least three to win, and five to score the progressive jackpot. Momoko actually got four progressive icons in one spin today. I was disappoitned when she only got 25,000 coins. Progressives are so rare. I thought she would get a million coin bonus.

Big Power Outage

The recent hurricane took out a lot of trees in the area. That resulted in power lines down all over the places. We lost power Saturday night. It did not get restored until a whopping 5 days later. They closed some of the roads down due to the fallen trees.

We managed to stay cool by opening the windows at night. Flashlights and candles illuminated the way at night. Little Kat and Momoko could not stand the heat in the bedrooms. They slept down on the main level. We used iPhones to act as alarm clocks.

Kit Kat and Little Kat went over their friends' houses to charge up their electronics. Momoko and I did the same at work. The contents of the fridge went bad pretty quickly. We kept the essentials on ice in coolers. The hope was that the freezer contents would last. It was not opened. I fear that the frozen foods will need to be thrown out too.

Laundry Fail Again

This week I had a large amount of laundry to wash. Had a lot of work to do, and work clothes add up in the hamper. Momoko also needed her clothes washed. Little Kat has that job.

We had Little Kat do the laundry first because I stay up late. I told Little Kat to set a timer to make sure the laundry he was doing got done. He used his iPhone for the timer. I checked up on Little Kat and he said he got this.

A few hours later I asked Little Kat if he was done with the laundry. I needed to get started. He told me he forgot, and that he must not have heard his alarm. Then I found out that the clothes never made it to the dryer. These clothes were just not getting done that night.

Now Little Kat is in trouble. Momoko is cooking up some plans to help Little Kat stay on task for laundry and other work. If not, Little Kat will just have to stay in the laundry room until the laundry is done. Harsh. But it will work.

Napter Inspired

I recently read a book about Napster. Do you remember? It was a program that came out 10 years ago. It let you find and trade free MP3 songs. The great thing about the force behind Napster was that only a few programmers created the first version. The founder was a high school student. I was inspired to read about them.

That gave me an idea. I am a programmer. I should be able to create something myself. So now I am going to try to come out with my own program. I discussed the plan with Little Kat. He had a lot of input. He thought I should write a game for the iPhone. He had ideas on how I should prive the app. Little Kat also had ideas about the name for the app. Good stuff. Let's see where this takes us.

The Voyage Home

With our vacation over, it was time to drive home from the hotel. Momoko was scheduled to do the drive. She followed the directions from the GPS in her car. However we found ourselves off track. The plan was to eat breakfast at Sonic along the way. But the car took us too far North.

I got on my iPhone and looked up Sonic online. Luckily they had a restaurant up North. We recalcuated our reoute with the GPS and arrived. This Sonic was weird in that it had indoor sit down tables. We got our breakfast on.

Momoko continued driving us home. She was tired and wanted some coca cola. Little Kat could not find the Cherry Coke we packed. Then it started to rain just in time for us to cross the huge bridge. Eventually we got home. The grass had grown very high. I went out and weeded some dandelions. Then I cut the lawn in the rain.

Next step is to host Easter dinner. Momoko is in charge of cooking as Kit Kat is away visiting daddy.

Dozed

Coin Dozer is my favorite game on the iPhone. You decide when to toss coins down on the board. A bulldozer pushes the coins back toward you. If the coin push other coins to fall in the chute in front of you, then you get more coins.

I like the clink sound the game makes when I drop coins. I love the sound when a huge bonus coin drops down and all the coins bounce into the chute. Yesterday night something went wrong. The sound in the game stopped working. I restarted the game, and even turned the iPhone on and off. The sound was gone. Sound still worked for other games.

Momoko told me I should just uninstall the game, reinstall it, and it should be cleared up. She was right. In addition, I got a big coin bonus when I reinstalled the game. It must have cashed in all the prizes I collected. Oh. I did not mention the prizes? They randomly drop, and you must push them into the chute too. If you have an iPhone, you must try Coin Dozer. They have a free lite version which I continue to play every day.

App Time

I finally got around to playing some of the apps I downloaded to my iPhone. I thought they would be really good since I chose them from web pages which featured the top iPhone app games. However I found a lot of the games lacking.

Some of the games just did not work well. Fail. Others were complicated or required a lot of my time (Zombie Farm). Goodbye. Then there were some that were hard. I hate it when I can't get past the third screen no matter how hard I try.

There were some gems. One game let's you drop coins to make coins fall out of the front of the machine. I love it and am hooked. They entice you download other games to "earn" more coins. I confess that I downloaded a few games to get my coin fix.

Ready for iPhone

Today Kit Kat needed to go to the library. Momoko and I were going to drop her off and go shopping. But it turns out we only did the shopping. We started out with some lunch at the diner. Then we headed south to find the AT&T store.

We talked to a young guy in the store. He had an iPhone 3GS personally. He said they only sold the iPhone 4 there. It was out of stock. Then he highly recommended some Android phone. I thought the iPhone 3GS was the best deal at $50. The monthly charges were a bit high.

After we came home, Momoko figured out what she wanted to sign up for. She spent a long time on the telephone, speaking to AT&T. Then she went to bed. I hope there is an iPhone coming in the mail for me. We shall see. I am ready to download and run some apps.

Phonce Choices

It has been over two years since we got some cell phones under contract. The current monthly cell phone bill is way too big. I want to get it lower. Momoko wants to get more services like web on the phone. Finally our cell phone provider keeps ripping us off. The result is that it might be time to get new phones and a new cell phone plan.

Way back when I heard about this G-phone from Google. Now I think this falls under the umbrella of the Android operating system phones. However Little Kat recently introduced the family to iPod Touch games (apps). They are very fun. And some of them are free. The iPhone can play these apps.

So is it time for us to get the iPhone? We plan to go to the phone store to play with iPhones this weekend. Little Kat is all for us getting him an iPhone. We shall see.
