Trash Can Overload

This weekend I worked out in the yard a lot. Cut the grass. Raked up old leaves. Bundled up tree branches. With my new work table, these choses seemed easier. I generated a large number of big trash bags. I was glad we have a bunch of trash cans.

Kit Kat has been doing spring cleaning in her room. It has been a mess for quite some time. Momoko said Kit Kat's friends could not come over for a party until this spring cleaning got done. That put the work on overdrive. Kit Kat generated about 10 bags full of trash. The problem was that I already filled the trash cans.

Luckily the trash collection comes twice a week. So I put all of Kit Kat's bags in the trash cans. I put a bit of my trash bags on top. However most of my yard refuse has to go in the next trash pickup.

The Voyage Home

With our vacation over, it was time to drive home from the hotel. Momoko was scheduled to do the drive. She followed the directions from the GPS in her car. However we found ourselves off track. The plan was to eat breakfast at Sonic along the way. But the car took us too far North.

I got on my iPhone and looked up Sonic online. Luckily they had a restaurant up North. We recalcuated our reoute with the GPS and arrived. This Sonic was weird in that it had indoor sit down tables. We got our breakfast on.

Momoko continued driving us home. She was tired and wanted some coca cola. Little Kat could not find the Cherry Coke we packed. Then it started to rain just in time for us to cross the huge bridge. Eventually we got home. The grass had grown very high. I went out and weeded some dandelions. Then I cut the lawn in the rain.

Next step is to host Easter dinner. Momoko is in charge of cooking as Kit Kat is away visiting daddy.

Nobody Home

I got out of work on time for once today. By the time I got home, Kit Kat had already left with her friends to see Eclipse at the movie theater. Little Kat still looked like he just got up. I went out and started cutting the grass.

By the time I got to cutting the back yard, Little Kat came running out. His friend was coming over to pick him up. He is spending the night over at his friend's house.

I completed cutting all the grass and came inside. I called out for Little Kat. There was no reply. I found this strange. All the lights were on and the TV was on as well. The front door was open. Little Kat must have left without saying goodbye.

As I was about to step into the shower, Momoko came home. It was good timing. I cleaned up and we went out for a date. Momoko felt like Mexican. We did not eat too heavily, saving room for a sopapilla. Delicious.

Another Day at Home

Our contractor returned today. He patched up the kids bathroom wall. Now he was not able to match the pink tiles in the shower. He also put the finishing touches on mine and Momoko's shower. This little drippy shower has been transformed into a power massage shower.

For lunch I went to my favorite restaurant, Pizzaria Uno's. I got a waitress who seemed to know me. Too bad I did not know her. Got two bowls of the all you can eat Broccoli and Cheese soup. Also had a Caesar salad which initially came out with no salad dressing.

I went out to cut the grass today. The temperature was very hot. And the sun really put a beating down on me. Wouldn't you know it? I ran out of iced tea during the ordeal. I put our weed wacker to good use in the back yard. The weeds were absolutely out of control back there.

Tomorrow I plan to sleep in. Then I am going to write a couple new programs to learn the stuff. Momoko and I plan to eat a simple dinner - Jerry's subs and pizzas.

Down to the Creek

Today I had three choices to get to work. I could go the slow but sure way to work. Or I could take a 2-lane highway that sometimes moves fine. The third option was to take the 4-lane expressway that gets backed up a lot. I chose the third option. The traffic was very heavy. I regretted this choice until I heard the 2-lane highway was actually shut down.

When I finally got back from work, I did not see Little Kat or Kit Kat. That was strange. I got back late. Momoko informed me that she sent them down to the creek at the edge of our property. Momoko needed samples from the creek for tomorrow's science class.

I had a little light left. So what did I do? Yep. I cut the grass. You got to be responsible with your work. After that I got back on the computer and did some work from home. My reward will be to watch some animation late tonight with Momoko and Kit Kat. That animation would be The Twelve Kingdoms.

Evil Edging

Little Kat informed me our mail box had been taken over by ants. No wonder I saw some ants in my mail this week. I headed out to get the pest killer. That will show those guys.

That is when I noticed the grass was getting high. It was bad near our garden. That area is tough to cut as the mower gets the mulch inside of it.

Finally I decided to bite the bullet and install some edging I had purchased a long time ago. First I dug out all the weeds. Then I put down a straight line to follow. I installed the edging, then topped the garden off with some new mulch.

The result looks good. But my back hurts. No pain, no gain.

Principal and the Tree

I got home today to find one message on the answering machine. It was the new principal at Little Kat's school. He goes to middle school orientation tomorrow. It was surprising that the principal spoke the message in Spanish by herself.

Since nobody else was home, I got to work in the back yard. There was a lot of grass to mow. After that I trimmed the bushes. I took the clipping back to the edge of our property. There was one last chore to do. Deal with the big tree branches that had fallen.

Actually there were a couple tree branches. They were in the shape of a big Y. The Y got stuck on in the tree, but the branches were dangling down in the way. I decided to grab ahold of the branches and pull them down. They were big so it took a lot of effort. And then ... oh no. The branch gave real quick, sending me backward. My body instinctively rolled backward into a somersault. Ouch. That could have ended up badly. Need to exercise more care next time.

Out to the Movies

Momoko took the cats out to see Ponyo today. Everybody wanted to see it including me. Unfortunately I had to mow the grass. It was long overdue.

That's ok. I did get to eat at the Outback Steakhouse with my college buddy today. That was all I had time for though, as I do my chores on Sunday.

Next I am going to vote for us to see G-Force at the show.

Attack of the Killer Weeds

It has been a few weeks since I cut the grass. I thought I could get by because it was dry. But recently it has been raining and the grass was high. I only got through half the front yard.

Then I had to do some trimming. That was tough work. Next I was pulling some weeds. These things were tough. Their roots ran deep. Half way through weed duty, I called it quits.

Perhaps I will get back on there tomorrow and fight the weeds. I need to keep up on the outdoor work. Otherwise the yard will turn into a jungle. I sure could use the help of a Little Kat. Come home soon.

Hard Work

This afternoon Little Kat and I worked out in the yard. There was much to do. We cut the grass. Little Kat gathered up all the sticks from the yard. We bagged them up.

Little Kat also used the clippers to get the grass by the mail box and fence. We have a big yard. So it took us a whopping 3 and a half hours to complete the job.

I sent Little Kat to bed early tonight. Tomorrow he must finish up his chores in time for Momoko to return home. Can't let him sleep in tomorrow morning.

Early Fatigue

It was still light out when I got home. Since it is going to rain for the next couple days, I thought it was time to cut the grass. Normally I zip right through our big lawn. But today I found that I had to take a number of breaks.

I just ran out of gas (not the lawnmower). This might be caused by me being out of shape. That is all the more reason to get outside and do some yard work.

For a month or so I had been neglecting to cut the one side of the yard in the back. I took a peek at it today. There was some seriously high grass. I had to cut that too. Now I am broken.

Hard Work

We got our new "jumbo" freezer up and running. I left the old freezer out on the patio today. It needed to thaw out. Since it did not have a built in defroster, there were layers of ice caked up in there. By the end of the day, all the ice had melt. After work I scrubbed the thing down with 409. Mamma Kat needed the freezer for a special project at work. I figured it should look good.

I noticed the cats working out in the garden. That was strange. There were just a bunch of weeds in there. Mamma Kat then said we needed to go buy some fruits and vegetables to plant in there. I had to first cut the grass as I did not finish the job this weekend. Then I was tired, but we still went to Home Depot.

First we loaded up on topsoil and mulch. Then we let the cats pick out the fruits and vegetables they wanted. Both of them got some herbs. Little Kat was proud to have picked out corn. I think both of them got some melons too. When we got home, the cats went out, worked in the new soil, and planted away. Mamma Kat is going to be tending to the garden this summer. She will water it every day. Maybe we will get some really good veggies out of this. That's the plan according to Little Kat.
