Birthday Special +1

Momoko is preparing for a safety inspection in her classroom. She needed me to bring Little Kat to her after school to help. Luckily I worked extra last week and a bit on the weekend. So I took the afternoon off.

Little Kat and I dropped by McDonald's on the way to Momoko's school. Ordered everyone a large fry and large coke with their burger. The person in the drive through window kept telling me that I ordered one medium coke. Took a while to convince her that the person who took our order got it wrong. Little Kat was pleased that they gave us a medium coke in addition to a large coke for him. Double the fun.

After dropping off Little Kat, I returned home. Kit Kat was doing some homework for her psychology class. She had to watch some depressing movie and write about it. They seem to like to involve multimedia in the homework projects. I took a short nap, then drove Kit Kat and myself to dinner.

Kit Kat is part of a club at the local diner. She gets every 5th meal free. She also gets a buy one get one free meal on her birthday. Woo hoo. I like coupons like that. Was disappointed that they got rid of my favorite bacon egg salad sandwich. But hey, they still have some kicking spicy soup. They also gave Kit Kat a free dessert for her birthday.

Back at home, we waited for Momoko and Little Kat to return. We watched the latest episode of Defiance on Sci Fi TV. Unfortunately Kit Kat had to skip the show to complete her homework.

The Melting Pot +1

Kiy Kat has been wanting to go to this restaurant The Melting Pot for a few years. This year we planned to make that happen for her birthday. We agreed to allow Kit Kat to invite her two best friends along for the ride. Momoko and I decided to foot the bill for the extravaganza. Now I told Kit Kat to find out where the place was located, their hours, and make sure they were still in business.

On the day of the event, Kit Kat had got directions to the place. But she did not make contact with them. Momoko then found out at the last minute that we needed reservations! Kit Kat was at an event at her friend's college. Momoko got through and told Kit Kat to make reservations. Turns out they only had really early or really late openings. We opted for really early since Kit Kat was having a party at our house at night.

We got to the place and met Kit Kat there. There was not that much parking. It was difficult to find the entrance to the building. We got a large booth in the back and decided on our orders. We started out with two kinds of chesse fondue. I found that I liked dipping raw broccoli in it. Kit Kat liked this dark bread. Little Kat seemed to eat the most. Momoko was concerned that she could only reach one of the fondue pots from her seat.

The real deal happened during the entree portion of dinner. We each ordered our meats and seafood. It arrived raw. We then used skewers to put the food in the boiling oil. We dumped all the raw veggies in the oil. I loved the mushrooms. My big steaks took a while to cook through.

Just when I thought the best part of the meal was over, we got dessert. There was warm dark and white chocolate to dip things into. These things were cheesecake, rice crispy treats, marshmellows, strawberries, and other small treats. We had to ask for more treats as there was a lot of chocolate. Everyone was stuffed by the time we got out of there.

Back at home, Kit Kat and friends brought some snacks from the store. Then the boys started to arrive. I took a nap. Normally I kick the boys out at midnight. However they got a late start due to the lengthy dinner at The Melting Pot. So I let the boys stay until a little after 1 am. Then it was time for all to sleep. The girls spent the night in Kit Kat's room.

The Good Helper +1

I was working hard on a project at work Friday afternoon. There were some problems that me and a coworker were sifting through. As I was talking to my coworker, Momoko called me at home. She asked me when I was getting off from work. I told her I had no clue. But it might be a late night.

Eventually I got to a breaking point where I needed some job to finish before I could proceed. I called Momoko back. Still did not know when I was going to be off from work. It was going to be late. But I had time to inquire further. Momoko was at school trying to get her classroom in compliance for an upcoming safety inspection. She needed Little Kat to be brought to the school That I could do.

I had Little Kat dress for work (jeans, sneakers, no flip flops). Then I took him over to Momoko's school. We had just been there this week to pick up Momoko's iPad left at work. Poor Little Kat. Had to return to his old middle school. I dropped him off and punched it to get home. Ran into a bunch of rush hour traffic. But I made it back in time for the next step at work.

Usually Little Kat is a slacker in Momoko's classroom. He does not produce too well. This time around he got down to business. He even did a few tasks that Momoko did not ask him to do. They ended up staying there late. Kit Kat cooked up some pork chops for dinner anyway. The two of us ate while we waited for the rest of the family to come home.

Now Little Kat was getting paid to help Momoko. However he was of some use. He partially made up for stealing my pizza bites out of the freezer earlier this week. Not sure if he made up for stealing Kit Kat's pie slice that was given to her by a friend. Time to stop the thief and put Little Kat to work again.

Gifts Galore

Today I was busy at work. Trying to get my latest project done. I made mistake telling a manager that I was trending toward an early finish. Now people want it done even earlier. That's the last time I show my hand to any such slackers. Had to work a little extra past quitting time. That's okay. Things were looking up after work when Momoko got the family a steak dinner. Delicious.

During dinner, a friend was in the neighborhood and dropped off some gifts for me. After dinner, I opened the box from my bro. He bought it over like 2 weeks ago. It was a set of wooden TV trays. We need them since we are watching movies down in the basement man-cave. Then I opened a bag from my mom. I had already plundered the cookies that were in the bag. But there were still many shirts in there, plus some socks.

I openeded a small box from Momoko. It was a nightstand for the bedroom. The top was a nice marble square. The legs were a burgundy that matches my dresser. Then I got a small bag from Kit Kat which contained a Pac-man T shirt. Little Kat gave me a card that said IOU. He also gave me some nom nom figures from the app Cut The Rope.

Then I went to the bag from the friend who dropped by during dinner. There was a whole lot of stuff in there: a four pack DVD set, a card with hotties on it, different gift cards, and I think some other stuff. Just when I thought we were done, I checked my email. Found an Amazon gift card.

I did some Amazon shopping with my gift card. Got a tripod and cast iron metal pot to hang from it. This will be good for camping style cooking. Will come in handy during an emergency. We already have stacks of firewood. Yeah today started out tough. Things have been looking up all night. Little Kat even assembled my nightstand for me.

Boy Scouts Motto +1

I studied late into the night on Sunday. Had to finish up a tough homework for college class. Usually staying up late is no big deal. But I had a plumber coming early the next morning. Ouch. The plumber came on time. He took a look at our broke down garbage disposal. He loosened some screws, sprayed WD-40, and got the thing running again. Nice. I was worried I would have to buy a new one (and schedule another plumber appointment).

The day got better. I finally got in touch with my handyman. He has been busy lately, and missed two appointments to check out what I need done. I had him come over. Showed him all the little things that have been bugging us for the last few months. For example, a cabinet drawer is broke down in the kitchen. Falls out every time we pull it. The handyman made a lot of notes. Next he will give me some estimates. Let's hope they are reaonsable.

Momoko forget her iPad at work. Little Kat and I went to retrieve it. Little Kat noticed how small the school seemed since he graduated from it last year. Naw. It is Little Kat who has grown a lot. We also delivered some soft drinks into Momoko's classroom fridge. At night Little Kat and I exercised. I heard a strange noise coming from my side. Little Kat told me it was just a broke pedal on the stationary bike.

WTH? Little Kat said he broke the pedal yesterday. Ummm and this is the first time I was hearing about it? Come on Little Kat. You were a boy scout. Leave the place looking better than it was when you came. At the minimum leave it as good as when you came. I showed Little Kat how to use some rope to repair the broken pedal. Little Kat may be tall, but he is still just a boy after all.

Friends +1

Yesterday I planned to meet with a friend of mine. It was her birthday last week, and I have a gift to give. There was a meeting scheduled in the morning for my work. So I made sure I was set to take off. The meeting ran late. So I had to bug out to meet my friend on time. Traffic was not bad. Picked up my friend and we went to eat.

We had planned to eat at a steakhouse close to school. However we found the place was closed down. Luckily there was a burger joint in the same mall. Initially I was surprised that the burger place was empty. I guess we were just a bit early. By the time I finished lunch, I had trouble leaving my table. We were surrounded by people trying to order lunch. It felt like a bar jam packed with people on a Friday night.

On the way home there was severe traffic on the other side of the road. Glad I scheduled an early lunch. Becuase if it were any later, I would be in that traffic. Back at home, Kit Kat picked us up some pizza for dinner. Little Kat planned to see a movie with one of his friends from school. It worked out good. Little Kat's friend's mom did the driving to and from the movie.

While at the show, Little Kat and friend saw another female friend there from school who said hi to them. Friend progress.

Get to Work +1

I was supposed to meet my handyman after work to get an estimate on many items we need fixed in our home. He never showed up. This is not like him. He is usually very punctual. Luckily Momoko picked me up some snacks at the mall today. I ate the snacks for dinner. Then I headed to school.

At school, a guy in my class asked if I could help him out with his homework. I asked him where he was at. He told me he was around three weeks behind. Ouch. I usually track one week ahead of the class to maximize my understand in class. This guy is about a month behind me.

The thing that is really bad is that the teacher is slowing the pace of the class because of some slow students. The teacher provides all kinds of help outside the classroom. I mean he is always helping people out if they are having troubles. So I figure there is one of two reasons why this guy is so behind: (1) he is slacking off, or (2) he does not belong in the class.

I told the guy I was too busy to help him out. It is not that I am too busy to help anyone out. I am just too busy to waste my time on a lost cause. There are a lot of things to do in this world. I am going to help Little Kat learn to read better, even if it takes a lot of effort on my part.

I am also not too busy to pick up a card for a student that was in one of my past classes. She, like me, was always working hard and staying ahead of the game in a tough class. That earns my respect and my time. Now I did consider the following statement by Malcolm Forbes:

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.

This guy was behind in class cannot do anything for me. Not now. Not in the future. So what will Forbes have me do? I don't think he wants me to help this kid out. He just wants me to treat him with respect. That's all I am ready to do.

Zombie Sex Scene +1

Today I had an invite to meet with the president of my community college. She wanted to get input from their adult student population. I hurried out of morning work meetings to grab a bite to eat at Roy Rogers. Then I made a detour at school to pick up a flash drive I won as part of a Math Awareness Week contest.

Then I went to the room where the president meeting was going to happen. I forgot that they said they were serving food there. Oh well. I grabbed a cherry coke and sat down. After introductions, I stood up and explained my number one problem on campus. There is a fail in the parking lot I always end up in.

At home, I found Momoko working late at school. For some reason Little Kat was late in preparing dinner. We ate late, and got a late start to Wednesday night family reading. There was bad luck because we had a long chapter to read. Kit Kat complained that we were spending so much time reading aloud.

Somewhere in the middle of reading, Kit Kat stopped because she said a sex scene was coming up. Sheesh. Kit Kat was the one who recommended this book. I had to take over for a while. It was two zombies trying to have sex. In case you did not know, it doesn't work out well for zombies. We eventually finished the chapter.

Afterwards Little Kat and I went downstairs to hit the exercise equipment and weights. Kit Kat was down there to doing another day of her 30-day squats challenge. I could not convince Momoko to join us. Like I said, it was a real long day for her at work.

I Smell Something Nasty +1

Today I stayed home and worked from the basement as usual. When I came up for lunch, I smelled something rancid in the kitchen. I smelled it again after I came home from lunch. Since the kitchen is not my responsibility, I let Momoko know there was a problem. Later in the evening, I still smelled something funky. Momoko said we would deal with it later. Then she fell asleep.

If there is one thing I know, you have to deal with stinky stuff immediately. I thought this was something going rotten in one of our fridges. I asked Kit Kat if she knew of anything stale in the fridge. She told me she smelled something rank in the trash can yesterday.

Typical. People smell stuff and don't take care of it. Well I should be one to talk. So I decided to take a little action. Took out the trash. Made sure it was bundled up good so the outdoor trash can does not stink as well. Sprayed some Lysol in the indoor trash can. Crossed my fingers.

In other news, the carpet cleaners I buy seem to keep breaking down. No more carpet cleaning machines for us. But our carpets tend to get dirty or messy with the kids in the house. What are we to do? Call the professionals. Turns out the last guy we used 5 years ago recently called Momoko to see if we had any work for him. Yes we do!

Come at me Bro +1

Momoko and Kit Kat swim on the weekend. Little Kat refuses to go exercise with them. He tells Momoko that he will exercise with me. Then he conventiently gets out of it. Momoko is not having this any more. She is requiring Little Kat to pump some iron with me.

Now it is not all that hard. I exercise for maybe 15 to 20 minutes each day. I just am very consistent. And my exercise is mostly cardio. I lift weights for like a minute or two per eday. Today I brought Little Kat down to our basement "gym" to work out.

Little Kat had to set up some of his weights which took some time. He should be all set up now. There are weights on his leg lift bar. And his dumbells have the appropriate weights attached now. Little Kat worked out on the elliptical machine first. The he spent the rest of the time hitting the weights.

We are going to make a man out of Little Kat if we have to. It is good for him to use up his energy working out, instead of attacking Kit Kat.

New Home

My best friend bought a new home two months ago. He finally let me see it today. He is busy with rennovations, and wanted to show me the finished product. I bugged him enough so he gave me a preview while fixes are still being made. I was glad because his house is really nice.

The funny thing is that my buddy moved down the street from his previous house. He just upgraded from a town house to a single family house. When I drove down his street, I was a bit worried. The road was a really major road. However after I crossed a big intersection, his subdivision was more quiet.

There is a nice double car garage. My friend just put in new flooring in the kitchen and family rooms. He actually did not like either finished product, and plans to rip up the kitchen flooring soon. The back yard is fenced and is flat. That is a plus.

Flooring is not complete on the upper level yet. So I did not see that. And his basement is unfinished, so it was left unseen. After taking the short tour of his house, my friend took me out to some Chinese food at P.F. Changs. That was good times.

Ait Conditioning Repair +1

The air conditioning on Momoko's car started to fail. It would not blow cold air. Time to take the car into the dealer. They would not have enough time to correct the problem on the weekend. So we needed to bring it in on a weekday. By we I mean me (and Momomko).

I thought Momoko could just drive Kit Kat's car to work. But Kit Kat protested. Instead I got signed up to drive Momoko to the dealer and to her work. That is all fine and dandy except Momoko needs to be at school early. Thus I got up at 5am to ensure we were the first customer at the dealership when it opened this morning.

After dropping off the car, I swung by Chik-Fil-A to grab Momoko some breakfast. Turns out there was not much traffic on the road that early. Momoko got to school in record time. The good news was that the A/C fix was minor. It cost little money and was done today.

I have to stay on the clock until 5pm daily. So Kit Kat picked up Momoko from work and drove her to the dealership.

Feast or Famine +1

Little Kat cooks around half of the meals we eat each week. He has been serving some disturbing portions of food recently. He will fill up a large square plate and give it to the family. Momoko has been chiding him, because he is stuffing us way beyond what we should eat.

Last night, Little Kat was tasked with serving up some breakfast style foods. He decided to make waffles. I laughed when I saw that he only made 2 waffles total: 1 for Kit Kat and 1 for Momoko. There was some bacon on the side. But dinner was a seriously sad meal. All they got was a measley waffle.

Luckily I go to school on Thursday nights. So I don't eat with the family. I was very hungry at dinner timer. Got myself a burger, fries, and Mister Pibb at Roy Rogers. Momoko begged me to not forget her when my class let out.

I was still a bit hungry after class. Class lasts until around 10:30pm. I dropped by McDonald's and checked out their new premium chick wraps. They were huge compared to the snack wraps. I also picked up Momoko an extra value meal. Strangely enough, Kit Kat was not hungry after my late night college class.

Knock at the Door +1

I woke up to my alarm this morning. Usually I get up before it sounds and turn it off. I was happy to see that the whole family made it to school this morning. Sometimes we have a straggler still asleep when I awake.

I headed down to the basement to get busy. Whew it was cold down there. We turned the house A/C on a few days agao. Kit Kat released last night that Little Kat only turned on the fan, not the actually cooling. This morning I felt the frost.

Had to pump the thermostat up 6 degrees before the darn central A/C would shut off. The main level was reading 60 degress. Ouch that is indeed chilly. Too chilly.

While I was working, I heard the doorbell ring. Usually that means soliciters. Glad I answered the door. It was some construction dudes working a few houses down on the street. They were trying to turn a long flatbed truck around in our cul de sac. They thought they might not make it without hitting my car. So they asked if I could pull my car into the driveway.

I wasted no time zooming the car up into the driveway. Glad I did. That 18 wheeler could not have made the turn without my car car. I was worried they might hit some other cars in the street. Guess those people were not home, or did not answer their doors.

Welcome to Wendy's +1

I had to do a little shopping today at lunch time. So I ate lunch at Wendy's since it was close to Target. Got a meal with a double cheeseburger. The price seemed high. But the burger was delicious. As I sat down to eat my meal, I kept hearing the staff proclaim, "Welcome to Wendy's."

Now this felt like a fail on two levels. The first issue as that nobody welcomed me when I entered the building. The second was that this sounded like a clone of what they scream when you come into any Coldstone ice cream store. I would call this a double fail.

What I did think was going above and beyond was the cashier coming to clear my trash from my table. She also asked if I needed a refill for my soda. That is what you would expect from a full service restaurant. I guess Wendy's is trying.

The reason why this is not a slam dunk is that Roy Rogers is their competition. Roys wins because of their fixins bar. I get all the topping I want just the way I want them. Roys also has unique toppings such as jalapenos which I cannot get at Wendys. Plus the price is lower at Roys.

If all of this was not enough, Roys is closer to me. Sorry Wendys. I know you are trying. You must try harder!

Yard Work Begins +1

I went to Roy Rogers for lunch today. Needed a hearty meal because today begins the Spring season of heavy yard work. First thing I did after lunch was use the leaf blower to move the leaves onto the grass. Then I ran the mower on the whole front yard. Blowing leaves out of the garden caused mulch to blow onto the grass. So I had to use the blower to blow the mulch back in the garden. Sure beats raking.

Then I started the labor known as picking up sticks. I don't want to run the mower in the back yard with all the sticks that fell off the trees. Luckily I have grabber tool that prevents me from having to bend down to grab the stick. I filled up a wheel barrel full of sticks. Then my grabber broke. Time to get a replacement pronto. Finally I cut the grass in the back yard area where sticks had been picked up.

I ended the day by bagging up all the collected grass, leaves and sticks. I also bagged up some big trash items we left behind the shed for bulky trash pickup. I think I can get the regular trash guys to haul most of this stuff. Oh Spring. The pain begins.

Lessons from Red Dawn +1

Today my bro came over and we watched Red Dawn. Not the original one. This is the updated one from last year. North Koreans have invaded the USA. The story focuses on a bunch of kids that put up a guerrila warfare fight against the invaders. I found the film both entertaining and educational at the same time. You can learn a lot from these kids if you are ever in a similar situation.

The first advantage was to have a hideout far away from civilization. This started out as the cabin in the woods. Later when the cabin was compromised, they used some underground cave that they found.

Second you need items stashed in your hideout. There must be some food. And there should be some weapons and ammo. If you have the weaponry and know how to use it, you can also hunt to create more food.

Third you need some training. Know how to use your weapons. Know hand to hand combat. Be healthy and ready to fight and run. Life will be hard when you are in the resistance. Your body has to be ready to respond.

Finally when you are staging an attack or executing a retreat, you need multiple points of escape from any situation. The escape needs to be set up and rehearsed ahead of time. You never know when your front down will get blown to pieces.

Hats off to the underground heroes known as the Wolverines in Red Dawn.

The Return Home +1

Today was our last day on vacation. It was a travel day. We got a dolly to load our luggage. I got the car from the garage, and we packed up. Kit Kat took the wheel. She was our designated driver. We got blocked in the hotel parking lot by some truck unloading conference supplies. Eventually we got on the road a little after 10am.

In the back seat of the car, Little Kat and I watched the movie Wreck-It Ralph. I had not seen it before. The movie was nice. By the time the movie was over, we had stopped for lunch at Sonic. Momoko and I ordered breakfast. Everyone got a slushie for the road. Kit Kat took her time finishing her lunch.

We got caught in construction traffic around 20 minutes away from home. We endured it and finally made it home. The trash cans were still on the curb. Our gerbils were healthy. I took an afternoon nap with Momoko. I wanted some Popeyes chicken for dinner. Momoko wanted to put it to a vote before the family. Of course nobody could agree on anything.

Me I am a big supported of making command decisions. Momoko tends to like polling the family. That just leads to democracy lockups. In the end, Momoko got consensus for us to eat from Subway and a Chinese restaraunt. Hey. If they want to go to two places to pick up dinner, I won't argue. Then we played some Mario together on the Wii.

Finally Little Kat got back to some PC games or videos. Momoko, Kit Kat, and I watched some Korean love story from Netflix. It had subtitles. Afterwards I went downstairs to start up working out again. Oh yeah +1.

Fun Times

Momoko was tired this morning. Had to delay lunch and wake up for a bit. Little Kat was fine with that, as he slept in very late. We dropped Kit Kat and Momoko off at a crepe breakfast place. Then Little Kat and I went to a restaurant that serves pickled beets as a side. It took us a while to get seated. Then it took a while to place our order. Momoko texted us saying that she and Kit Kat were ready. We had not received our food yet. The just had to wait.

After lunch we drove down to the boardwalk. We dropped Momoko off a number of streets up from the end of the boardwalk because he leg hurts and she cannot walk much. Then Little Kat and I parked the car. They just started charging for parking. Little Kat calls this the beginning of the season. Kit Kat went and rented Little Kat a fun cycle. I took the low bike for a ride. The cold air hurt my face and I went fast.

Afterward the bike rental, we drove back to the hotel for a short rest. A few hours later I woke up and we rallied the family. I drove us out west to eat dinner at Soninc since this is our last night at the beach. Tried their new spicy chicken. It was tasty. Got another slushie since the last one was so good. It started raining and sleeting as we were at Sonic. Tomorrow morning we head back homre.

Movie Day

Today we planned to go to the movies. But first we needed to eat some lunch. The movie theater is at least 30 minutes away. The GPS in the car took us the long way, making the journey closer to an hour long. We took advantage of the location by visiting a nearby Long John Silvers.

We don't have this restaurant close to our house. So we were excited. The best part was that they had a buy one get one free promotion going on with their meails. We ate for about half price. Kit Kat and Momoko got the fish meals. They had so much food that neight of them could finish. I liked that you could get all kinds of sauces to go with your meal.

Afterwards we headed to the mall that has the good movie theater. The theater by the beach sucks. So we travel for a superior movie experience. We thought the movie started at 3:45pm. Luckily we were there really early. The movie actualloy started at 3:25pm. We saw The Great and Powerful Oz. Kit Kat thought we should have seen GI Joe. I am glad we did not. Oz was nice.

Afterwards we dropped by Sonic for slush drinks. We drove back to the hotel, but stopped by Subway to buy Momomko a foot long sub. Then later at night I took the kids to a local diner that Momoko does not care for. Finally we ended the night by having Little Kat read us most of the first Chapter in Warm Bodies.

Game Night

After being out on the boardwalk for a few hours, I was tired. Took a nap until dinner time. Luckily, we just walked down to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Momoko authorized a crap dip appetizer. She also limited Little Kat to just a bowl a soup. Good thing too. Little Kat had previously eaten some snacks. Then he ate a lot of crab dip. He could not finish his soup. His excuse was that he was tired, and when he is tired he loses his hunger. Yeah right.

After dinner, Momoko made the family come to our room for a game night. She was the only one who wanted to play a game. But since she is the mamma, we had to comply. We had packed the Clue game for the trip. We used the beds as two chairs. Then we pulled up a table and two extra chairs. After rolling to see who goes first, Momoko won the roll.

Throughout the game, Little Kat kept complaining that he was at a disadvantage for rolling last. Turned out he was the first to accuse a murderer in the game. His theory was correct, and he won the game. Momoko quickly sent Kit Kat down to the Bistro in the center of the atrium for some ice cream. The place was closing in 10 minutes. After we packed up the game, Little Kat and Kit Kat bolted to their room for the night.

The Monster Sweatshirt

Today was our first full day at the beach. Last night we slept with the sliding glass door to the beach open. It got very cold in the middle of the night. I had to man up to get out from under the covers to shut the door. This morning I tried to sleep in. Momoko was hungry. She rallied the troops and got us up for some breakfast. We introduced Kit Kat to the pancake house that is so good.

Afterwards we heade down to the boardwalk. The kids wanted to buy some animal keyrings that one surf shop sold. When Momoko saw the funny little creatures, she wanted one too. Kit Kat and I walked down to the store to pick out a keyring for Momoko. We passed some weird guys dressed up in bloody costumes holding up some protest signs. A girl riding a bike shouted out, "Not cool."

At the store we climbed a huge set of stairs to get to the top level. There were found a limited selection of rings. Kit Kat found one she wanted to get for herself. Instead she bought the keyring for Momoko. On the way back I spotted a store that sold hoddies for ten bucks. I inquired within to find out that only blank hoodies were $10. You had to pay extra for the insignia. No sale for me.

Kit Kat went in and tried to buy a hoodie. They were out of her size in black hoodie. She ended up spending more for a more expensive hoodie. At least that one did not cost extra for the insignia. Now Kit Kat has a hoodie with what looks to be a Monster energy drink M on it. It fits right and is the best color.

Vacation's All I Ever Wanted

Today we were scheduled to go on vacation. Kit Kat was supposed to drive us to the beach. She was sick. So Momoko took the wheel. She had a hard time because there was an accident which closed down the main road. We eventually got back on after a long detour. Then Momoko took a wrong turn based on Kit Kat's navigation. We corrected for it, and got to the hotel.

Our room was ocean front. I got the kids a separate room so they could each have their own bed. Their room opened to the atrium. Since their balcony was indoors, they had nice furniture on the balcony to sit on. Back in our room, we opened the sliding glass door to the ocean. Somebody was playing a guitar and singing loudly. He was an average singer, but not good enough to be pro. I figured he could not have been the paid entertainment.

After trying to take a nap for 20 minutes or so, the singer would not shut up. I had Momoko stand out on the balcony so I could figure which room was ours. I went outside on the groud and looked up. Some lackey was singing with a guitar on the room right below ours. I told him to stop making noise. He said okay. Hopefully that will be the end of that nonsense.

Afterwards I went to the front desk and told them I had a noise problem that I believed I had solved. I asked them who should I call in case the problem returned. They told me to call the front desk, who would in turn call hotel security. Good enough for me. Tomorrow we plan to sleep in, eat some lunch, and head to the boardwalk.

Easter Celebration +1

Momoko wanted to do something special for Easter this year. We were not going over to my mom's house as usual. So Momoko though the kids could cook up an Easter dinner. The kids were not into it. I thought that would be a wsste as well. Not only would there be hours of cooking, there would be a lot of cleaning to do afterwards. Instead we propsed that we visit Cici's pizza for a mid-day dinner.

Cici's is an all you can eat pizza buffet. They also have pasta, salad, and dessert at the buffet. I know them for their weird pizzas. Personally I like their mac and cheese pizza. The kids like their taco pizza. Momoko does not care for their pizza. However we do not visit Cici's often. So Momoko accepted our idea.

In the morning, Kit Kat slept in. She was too sick to attend our Easter celebration. It was just Momoko, Little Kat, and I. For some reason I was the appointed driver. I was also the one who paid for the food. Luckily they were having a special $5 per person deal. I splurged for soft drinks as well since we were doing fine money wise.

Momoko was supposed to verify that our favorite Cici's location was actually open for Easter. They never picked up their phone. So we went to another location across town. We thought there would be nobody there as it was Easter Sunday. Wrong. There was a line at the door. When we got in, we had Little Kat run over and reserve us a table.

I ate tons of pizza. When Momoko and I first went into line, some kids came between us trying to get at the pizza. I told the scrub that he needed to back up to the end of the line. He obeyed. Little Kat tried some of the things Momoko and I skipped. For example, he ate some pasta, soup, and "pasta salad". By mistake I drank Coke the whole time I was there. I only found at they had Doctor Pepper as we were heading out. Drat.
