Here Comes the Pizza

Mamma Kat bought us some pizzas tonight for dinner. Kit Kat's scout troup was running some promotion with a local pizza chain. They were going to donate 20% of proceeds if you mention that the troop sent you.

All I know is that they make some delicious pepperoni pizza. I already had a few pieces. Add a little crushed red pepper, and you are good to go.

A Missing Phone

Little Kat had to go to scouts today. He hurried through his homework and skipped dinner. The plan was for Mamma Kat to drive him. But Mamma Kat had her own homework to do. So I was going to drive Little Kat. I would drop him off. He would call us with his cell phone when he needed a ride back. There was only one problem with this scheme - Little Kat lost his phone.

We have gone through this trouble before. Our new policy is that Little Kat's phone is either in his pocket, or on the charger. It was in neither. He checked all his pants and coat pockets. He also checked the car. No cell phone. We tried in vain to call his cell phone. It must have been turned off.

Little Kat ended up missing scouts tonight. That was too bad. But we needed to find that phone. About an hour later Little Kat said he found it. The thing had become stuck in one of the couches. Now we have a new rule. The phone has to be on a charger unless Little Kat is out with it.

The Long Bike Ride

This weekend we went camping with the Boy Scouts. This month Little Kat graduates to become a boy scout. The scouts said they are biking next month and wanted Little Kat to come. Knowing that the scouts just did a 10 mile walk up the side of a mountain, we asked how far they planned to bike. They replied about 30 miles or so. Given their usual underestimation, that probably means they are going for a 50 mile super bike marathon.

I told Little Kat we needed to train so that he could keep up with this active boy scout troop. Our first practice run was to ride out bikes to the closest public school and back. The total round trip distance was 2.5 miles. It was a rough ride because of the many hills in between. Kit Kat got lucky and escaped with Mamma Kat to the store in our new car. So it was just Little Kat and me.

It started out tough with a steep up hill climb. We got a breather as we went down a large hill. That was followed by a very long hill that took the wind out of you. Little Kat ran out of gas two times during that ride. When we got the school, we took quite a break. It was an even harder ride home. You just don't have to have the energy to climb the hills. You have to watch out for oncoming traffic on the roads that have no sidewalks.

Next weekend, Little Kat and I are going to try the bike run to the school one more time. Little Kat insists that Kit Kat be made to endure the pain with us. Now we only need to get Mamma Kat to buy a bike. Then we will be the family that bikes together.

Beware of the Skit

Today the family went to a scout meeting for Little Kat. They served dinner there. We ate chili dogs. There were three types of chili to choose from. Little Kat had a little of each kind on his dogs.

Little Kat carried one of the flags to start and end the meeting. The meeting lasted a whopping hour and forty minutes. Little Kat was sweating it because he had to perform a skit with another cat.

We had guests from the fire department and police. They talked a long time. Little Kat was happy. That meant there was no time for him to perform his skit. The best part of the night was that they had cheese curls there!

Stick To It!

Little Kat started out in Cat Scouts when he was just a Tiger Cub. In Cat Scouts, the boys make pinewood derby race cars out of a block of wood. Little Kat has always been a creative one. I think he is more concerned about how the car looks then how it races. This year he decided to do his car all by himself without any adult supervision. I told him is not allowed to use any sawing or cutting tools. Well, he finished his car yesterday and I will have to take a picture of it to post online. He made a stick of butter car! I think he will call it the "Butter Mobile". Well, it looks great and I hope it does well in the race tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
