Playing Pictionary

Kit Kat gave a card game to one of her friends recently. She told me about it. You use cards to play charades. It sounded really fun. This past Monday was supposed to be our biweekly game night. For some reason we did not have time to play. It got postponed to today.

Luckily on Wednesday, Kit Kat picked up a Pictionary card deck for our family. You know we were going to play it. This game requires you to choose teams. It was the boys against the girls. We chose the easy very of the game. However it was quite difficult. Neither Kit Kat nor myself could guess the word "Teddy Bear" for over 10 minutes. We finally gave up.

In the end, the team of Momoko plus Kit Kat won. However Little Kat and I did win a few rounds. I tried my best to give us an edge. I blurted out a lot of words that might be related. That won us a game or two. Little Kat also used more than just the cards for a game or two. I dread the day we have to play the advanced version of the game.

Family Meeting Night

Some time ago, Momoko instituted family meeting night. This is some time we set aside each week for each cat to bring up family issues they want to address. At first Little Kat said these meetings were no fun. We were bringing up problems all the time.

Tonight I was happy to see that Momoko let Kit Kat run the meeting. Normally Momoko calls the meeting to order and runs the thing. The other nice thing about tonight was that Little Kat was able to vocalize some ways the family was changing that he did not like. Most of his issues were addressed. And some actions were assigned to family members. That's how business is done.

We are getting better at boxing in the time spent at family meeting night. Normally Little Kat is the time keeper. He sets a physical timer that rings when the time runs out. This helps us make sure we don't spend all night in a family meeting. It seems family meeting night is turning out almost as good as family game night. Maybe I will share some fun from those nights in a future post.

Snow Day

Well, having a day off can be fun but knowing you will have to make it up later always makes a snow day a little bitter sweet. We were blanketed in snow and ice yesterday and today the kittens and I had a day off. I got up early (when Black left for work) and made sure the kittens got up too. Poor Black spent a long time scrapping the ice from his ride. Little Kat wanted to play outside and kept bugging Kit until she finally gave in. They played outside for about an hour before Kit came inside to warm up. Little had made arrangements with a friend to go back out later. He played until the temperatures warmed up enough to make the precipitation change into rain. He looked like a drown cat when he finally came inside. The kittens warmed up and we watched movies until Black got home. We were able to get in a little family game time before Little had to go to bed. So, I would say we had a pretty good snow day. Tomorrow will be a two hour delay and the kittens are off school on Friday. Looks like there is not much left in this week!
