Microwave Blues

Yesterday Kit Kat and Little Kat told me our microwave broke. I had them do some checks, and indeed it seemed dead.

Last night I stayed up late studying for a test I am going to take in two weeks. So I did not want to get out of bed this morning.

Mamma Kat kept telling me we needed to go buy a new microwave. I don't know why I need to go. You just select one and pick it up. Besides, we have a working microwave in the basement.

After being pulled out of bed this morning, we went to Best Buy to get the microwave. I like them for electronics. However I was disturbed to find out the local Best Buy was out of business. Ouch. Luckily there was a Home Depot next door that was happy to sell us a microwave and some other goodies for the house.

Show on Saturday

Little Kat seemed excited every time we saw an ad for the movie Coraline. So this Saturday we all got up early. We drove down south to go see the show. There was only one place showing the film in the morning. I always have my bro cat come over the house Saturday afternoon. So we needed to watch the movie early.

It was a treat to find that the matinee price was 5 bucks. Our normal theater charges 8 bucks for matinee. The theater was fine, proving stadium seating for us to enjoy. We loaded up with concessions like nachos and a hot dog. Little Kat was puzzled that the theater seemed empty. The movie just came out yesterday. I guess the other cats were sleeping in.

The movie was great. The only disappointment to Little Kat was that it was not in 3D. Afterwards we walked through the mall and ordered a pizza to go. Mamma Kat likes pepperoni. The other cats like cheese. This might be the start of a new tradition for our family - going to the show on Saturday morning.

Big Trash Can

I woke up pretty early this morning. But I was still the last one of out the house. Kit Kat had just caught her bus to school. As I was heading out to my car, I saw a big trash can in our driveway.

That puzzled me. It is not trash day. I checked and all our big trash cans were up in our carport. Then I noticed that all my neighbors had a trash can in their driveway too. And all the trash cans looked the same.

It was then that I figured it out. These were not trash cans. They were new recycling bins that the county had given to us. They just look like trash cans because of their shape and size. Great. Now Little Kat can start up the massive recycling project he wants to do. Right now I only put old newspapers in our little recycling container.
