Celebrating Little Kat

This morning we celebrated Little Kat's birthday. There were some gifts that were delayed for one reason or another. For example, Little Kat got to open the huge box we had in our computer room. It was a weight bench. However the dumbells that are to be used with it are still being shipped.

Little Kat also got some type of Zombies game for the PC. I think he plays the same game on his iPhone a lot. So does Momoko. I got Little Kat a few gifts. The main one was a handheld radio. It runs on batteries and can also tune radio station audio. With some cash gifts from friends. Little Kat purchased himself a new power cable for his laptop.

Although we had red velvet birthday cake around lunch time, we also took Little Kat our to eat for dinner. He chose Friendlys so that he could get ice cream as well. They had a seasonal special where they served ice cream out of Frankenstein's head. You get to keep the Frankenstein mug when you are done. Of course Little Kat got that. Momoko also picked up one of those mugs for her classroom. All in all an eventful day.

Coned

Kit Kat decided to go to the pool with her friends last night. Momoko and I drove her there. Kit Kat's friends saw us on the road and beeped their horn at us. Afterwards Momoko wanted to get some ice cream. We drove to a farm near our house that sells ice cream in the summer. I got a huge waffle cone with butterscotch and soft serve.

Now for an update on our dryer debable. Momoko called the store manager who said it would be easy to hook up our dryer exhaust. He came over this week. After struggling for an hour, he finally got the thing hooked up. Kit Kat did some laundry. The dryer vent fell off on the first dryer use. Epic fail.

Momoko called the store manager again, explaining that his handy work was not too handy. The manager sent the install guy who should have done the work the first time. He cut out some of the vent ducting from the wall. Then he connected the dryer directly to the opening that leads outside. Let's hope this thing holds tight. I am never going to use these delivery and install guys again. A total waste of time. I got my own handy man who will charge a bit more, but get the job right the first time.

Get Cracking

Momoko did some research for our dinner tonight. Little Kat wanted some crabs. So we headed for a seafood house that was on the 8th floor of a hotel. You were supposed to be able to look out on the ocean as you ate. We drove up and saw the neon sign for the restaurant. However when we go to the top floor, there was only a bar left there.

Next we headed to one of our favorite seafood restaurants. It was closed. Momomoko wanted me to drive to the other side of town. I was tired of driving all day. Instead we stopped at a crab shack close to our house. Momoko got all you can eat crabs. Little Kat got 2 pounds of Alaskan king crab legs. Both of them went through the pain of shucking crabs.

I ate shrimp. Little Kat took home his french fries and salad. We stopped by the ice cream place to get Momoko a scoop of ice cream. She got it on a waffle cone.

Wrapping Up the Weekend

The Kittens leave bright and early on Monday. We have to leave the house around 5:00 am! We made sure the car was packed before bedtime so we really just have to roll out of bed and go.

I was looking back and realized it was a pretty nice but hectic weekend. Saturday we were able to spend time at our favorite eating place. Kit spent time with her friends (pool party/mini golf/sleep over) and I had a nice evening with Little which included Red Lobster and ice cream.

On Sunday, Little and Black went out to eat and I took Kit and her friends to the movie to see "Killers". We really enjoyed the movie. After the movie, Kit and I headed to the grocery store. The kittens finished up their chores and we ended the night talking. I am really going to miss the kittens and it is hard to let them go but I know they are really excited about going and I want them to have a good time.

They are not always going to be kittens. One day they are going to be living their own lives and be their own cats. You can only do the best that you can and get them to the airport on time!

Sleep Over Weekend

This weekend we decided to let Kit Kat invite her friends to our house for a sleep over. Now sleep over is a relative term. These teens like to stay up most of the night. This will probably be the last big bash before Kit Kat goes to see her dad this summer.

One of Kit Kat's friends brought his Rock Band game for the Wii. He also brought all the hardware. This included a drum set, microphone, and guitar. I thought I heard Amy Lee from Evanescence singing in our basement. Turns out it was another of Kit Kat's friends with a good voice.

Momoko went on an all day 5 location field trip. When she got home she was broken. So we put her to bed. She had promised Kit Kat that she would take them to get ice cream. I had to take them instead. We went to this shack on the side of the road. The owner was very nice. He let us try some raspberry snow cone and ice cream combo for free.

Little Kat spent the night over his friend's house. Apparently he got no sleep last night. He came home and napped for a few hours. Momoko tried to wake him up. However he just wandered around until Momoko took a nap. Then Little Kat had to lay down on the couch for a rest. They are both sleeping right now. Heheh.
