Left Out

Kit Kat was planning to spend the night at her friends house. My bro came over our house to watch some movies as uusual. Then Kit Kat came down, asking whether her friend could spend the night at our house. Sounded okay. So Kit Kat's friend came over.

Momoko sent Kit Kat out to pick up some Chick-fil-A for Momoko and myself. Kit Kat said she was taking her friend. After they left, Momoko wondered how that would work. Kit Kat has not had her license long enough to drive another teenager. We did not think Kit Kat's friend had her license long enough either. Turns out Kit Kat's friend drove them to Chick-fil-A. Upon return, Kit Kat's friend declared that she had her license long enough to drive other teens.

Kit Kat unpacked the Chick-fil-A. Unfortunately Kit Kat bought something for everyone except Little Kat. That did not sound right. I had a salad topped with fried chicken. I let Little Kat choose to share either my salad or chicken. He chose the chicken (it came with buffalo sauce).

Driving Instructor Fail

Kit Kat finished her classroom drivers education. Now it is time for her to do the hands on driving. She has schedule three days of 9 to 11 am on the road. The instructor called before the first session, saying he had to work with another driver who is about to get her license. So he needed to move the first day's session up to 7:00 am with Kit Kat.

I heard a noise around 9:00 am. At first I thought it was Kit Kat arriving back from her drive. Nope. The slacker instructor picked her up at 9:00 am. WTF? If you make an appointment at 7:00 am, you best show up well before 9:00 am. Then I heard that the chump was doing the crossword puzzle as he went with Kit Kat. Wake up slacker. Give Kit Kat the instructor she deserves.

It is a good thing that I did not pay for Kit Kat's driving instruction. I would want my money back, or a replacement instructor at the least.

Kit Kat Hacked

Kit Kat came downstairs and told Momoko her PC got infected. Something was telling her she needed to pay up to get the license to fix the problem. It sounded like a scam to me. Kit Kat said she had to pay $70 to buy the program to fix the problem. That's when I knew this was a scam.

Me and Kit Kat found the program that was causing all the ruckus. It was called avg. This was not the real AVG Antivirus. It was a bad program pretending to be AVG. I killed the program and deleted it.

The problem was not fully fixed. The virus left some trails behind to make Kit Kat's life difficult. None of her web browsers would work. It kept saying that Windows could not find the program. It took a while to find and delete the registry keys making this happen.

When all was said and done, I told Kit Kat we should download a real antivirus program to clean everything up. We tried Spyware Doctor. After installing, running it, finding a lot of bugs, it asked us to buy the darn thing. Nooooooooo. Luckily Microsoft had Security Essentials already on Kit Kat's machine. It found and removed the bad virus for us. Whew.
