Flying High

Today we drove up to the airport. Momoko had me drive the new Honda Fit. We let Little Kat sit up front because he was flying. The airport parking lot was not too full. The check in lines were not too long. Little Kat was checked in over an hour before take off.

Kit Kat and I said goodbye to Little Kat. Then Momoko took Little Kat through security. Kit Kat and I had a seat in the restaurant outside security. Kit Kat ordered some calamari. I had chips and queso. We waited a long time. Then we moved to a window seat by the front of the airport.

Momoko kept texting and calling Kit Kat. After Little Kat's plane pulled out on the tarmac, Momoko came looking for us. She could not find us. We had to go find her. Kit Kat was not in the mood to drive the long distance from the airport. So I took us home. Tonight we eat pork BBQ from the slow cooker. And we plan to watch Inception. Have a safe flight Little Kat.

Curse of Du Claw

Yesterday we drove Kit Kat to the airport. She needed to catch a flight to visit her dad. The airline only gave out 1 extra security pass. So Little Kat and I needed to wait in the terminal. Kit Kat and Momomoko proceeded to the departure gate.

There is only one restaurant in the terminal outside of security. It is Du Claw. We had eaten there before. The appetizers are really good. We had all eaten dinner. And Little Kat had a big snack before dinner. So we decided to split a snack. Little Kat chose the buffalo wings with fries option. It was tasty.

Since it was just Little Kat and I, he was able to order a soda. Momoko joined us a bit early. Apparently Kit Kat had boarded the plane. We waited until Kit Kat's plane took off. Then we went to the parking garage. Exiting was a nightmare. Everyone was trying to leave the airport. And you need to pay the attendants for parking. Luckily we parked on a level of the garage that had a shorter line to pay for parking. Good choice Momoko.

Cat Lessons

I read an article that covered lessons on how to treat people. There were some gems in there. For example, you might find gold in the strangest of places. And you never know who you might meet on the side of the road.

In other news, I had turned in a assignment for school that I thought was pretty darn good. However the other night I found that I received a zero on the assignment. This must have been a mistake. So I tried to schedule a meeting with my instructor.

The instructor told me to drop by his office hours. Today I left work in the middle of the day to go to school. Wouldn't you know it? The instructor was not there at the start of his office hours. I saw another past instructor of mine and talked about some stuff in the world of network security. After a long wait, my instructor finally showed up. I made sure that there were no more hidden expectations for my assignment. When I turn it back in, I am expecting no less than 100% on the thing.

The View From Black Cat

It is the night before the cats leave to see their dad. I need to talk with Kit Kat. However it is getting late. So I wrap up any discussion and go to bed. Momoko wakes me up and tells me we forgot to load the car. She and Kit Kat have to take care of it. I get up before 5:00am. Little Kat tells me he is so excited about the trip that he gets up before his alarm goes off.

I drove the family to the airport. When we get there, Kit Kat realizes that she forgot her wallet. Oh well. No driving for you until Momoko mails it to you. We see a huge line for security. When we try to check in, the automated screen does not recognize Momoko's boarding passes for the kids. An employee helps us out. The long security line goes by quick. I am happy I was not required to go through the full body scanner. Little Kat remarks that the airport screeners took a long hard look at Kit Kat's laptop with the scanner. We go to our gate and wait.

Momoko asks if there is time for her to get breakfast for the kids. I tell her I guess so. She leaves me with everybody's carry on bags. The kids go with her to the McDonald's in the airport. Then the kids' plane starts boarding. I would call Momoko, but she left her cell in the car. Luckily the kids come back and scramble to grab their things. They get in line according to their boarding pass number, with uneaten McDonald's in tow. Momoko and I watch as the plane tries to back out of the terminal. Another plane whizzes by behind the kids' plane. Whew. Close call. Did the kids know what just happened? The plane does a 270 degree turns. Is this a rookie pilot or what? Then Momoko and I leave the airport. I get milked at the parking lot exit for 8 bucks. We were only there for an hour and a half. But at least we parked close to the terminal.

Airport Blues

Today is our last day in Orlando. We cleaned out our hotel room. Checkout was quick, and we got up early, so we hit Sonic first.

The airport itself was easy to find. It was not clear where we needed to return our rental car. We had to turn around at least once. Others were confused too.

There was more confusion once we got inside the airport. There were no signs for our airline. I asked a janitor. He told me I was on the wrong side of the airport.

Security lines were short at the airport. We found our gate. But the flight got delayed. Now they have changed the departure gate as well. I hope we get home soon.
