Labor Day Plans

One guy that works on my project has a beach vacation house. He used to joke around that we should come by some time and check it out. I did not give it any mind. However another dude at work said he wanted to go.

So we made plans to drive to the beach on Labor Day. Told the family I would be going to the beach without them. This was a boys night out only. Then the guy who wanted to go found out some family is visiting him for Labor Day. Therefore he bumped our trip. Bummer.

Now I am free for Labor Day Weekend. Maybe I can get the family out into the yard to do some work with me. Yeah that does not sound fun. But it will help me.

Days Swirl By

I started out this summer with a plan. I wanted to complete certain things by the time the kittens return but I find myself getting off track.

I have been enjoying the fact that I can sleep in with no commitments but this causes me to stay up until the wee hours of the morning. I have to focus so that I can stick to my summer plan.

I want to start going back to physical therapy and or start going to the pool. I want to organize each room and plan for class. I have a summer class July 12-23 so I really do not have a lot of time to work on my to list if the kittens are coming home mid August.

I really miss the kittens and it kills me that they never call or text. I know they are busy but I would really just like a five minute check. I am sure my mom feels the same way and I am lucky if I talk to her once a week. I guess there is something about what comes around goes around. I will keep you posted on my list of things and how well I get them completed!

Helping Momoko

As the school year comes to a close, Momoko has a lot of work to do. Got to wrap up the classroom. Normally Momoko just uses the kids as helpers. But now Kit Kat goes to a different school.

Luckily I am on vacation this week. So after school I pick up Kit Kat. We drive to Mokoko and Little Kat's school. We usually pick up a snack for the family. Snacks are good because they keep you going, are quick to eat, and don't make you sleepy. Today I brought a full dinner since we might be working late.

Kit Kat is busy cataloging all the textbooks, numbering them, and finding out which ones are missing. Little Kat was in charge of taking down things on the walls and doors. Momoko has the opportunity to get things laminated. Little Kat and I went in search of the "laminating drawer". You put stuff in, and the teacher in charge does the laminating.

The plan is to be done with Momoko's room by the middle of next week so we can go on vacation. I can hear the beach calling to us.

Driving with Kit Kat

Today I had to return to work. It was not fair because Momoko and the kids are still on Spring Break vacation. I hurried home after work to take Kit Kat driving.

We decided to take a longer drive today. On the first ride out, Kit Kat successfully hugged the right hand curb. This was good. A neighbor came around the corner and was driving in the middle of the street. Kit Kat's driving made it easy to avoid an accident.

On the second pass around the block, I told Kit Kat to signal a right hand turn out of the local school parking lot. She hit the windshield wiper lever instead of the turning signal one. The windshield wiper phased her and she lost control for a bit. We ended up going over the curb but there was no damage done.

Overall Kit Kat is gaining better control over the car. She says she is more confident. Her acceleration and braking is more smooth. I noticed she also goes above the speed limit on the open roads a bit. Got to watch that. I am hoping Kit Kat gets enough skills so that we can drive all the way to her school in the morning (which is a long 30 minute drive away).

Every Cat is Sick

Yesterday Kit Kat said she was not feeling well. So we put her to bed in the afternoon. She was sick to her stomach all night.

This morning I was supposed to drive Little Kat to school. Turned out he was not feeling well either. So he stayed home with Kit Kat.

Momoko called me today at work. She is ill. She will not be going to work tomorrow.

I myself and not feeling that well. But I got to charge on and get to work. There is a lot to do, and I don't want my vacation next week to be affected.

It is tough times in the Chinwagger household.

Home Sweet Home

We just got back from visiting Grannie & Papa Kat. We had a great time and wished we could stay longer but school starts Monday. We are a little tired from the flight but happy to be home. The first order of business is to unpack and go to the store and buy some yummies. Then we will catch up on some movies and try to squeeze in some Wii.

Heading for "More" Snow

We are so excited because we are going to see Papa and Grand Kat for the holidays. What could possibly of wrong? Well, they did get a little snow...err maybe it was more like a blizzard. It sounds like we are going to have a little Christmas Adventure. Wish us luck. I am definitely going to pack my winter gloves.

Snow Days!

Well, the snow came and the schools canceled classes. We got to start our Winter Break early. The kittens are playing in the snow and Black is slaving at work. I figured I should at least take a moment out of my day to write a post. I have been so busy this semester. I got an "A" in my last class and the good news is that I only have 2 more classes to go. I will be finished by June 15!!! Until then, be understanding if you do not see many posts from me.

Quick Dinner

I am now officially on vacation. Momoko is busy getting everything ready for us to take a trip. That meant I was in charge of dinner. Traffic is crazy Friday nights. So I decided to get some Dominos.

The local Dominos messes up our orders a lot. Momoko has found that placing the order online helps them get it right. I figured it was worth a try.

Now all the items I ordered came out with the right labels. However my hot wings were not exactly hot. I should have added some hot sauce to them.

Dinner is over now. Time to get back to work. Laundry calls.

Change of Plans

Momoko wanted us to go to the beach this summer. We have been busy with work and school. However my vacation is slowly approaching. I tried to find a spot where we could rent a condo on the beach. It seems the best spot for such condo rentals is far away. Then I looked into airline tickets to fly to the beach. But there were no non-stop flights there. The fates have conspired against us.

This week Momoko decided that we should instead go gambling this summer. Last time we went, I got sick so we could not enjoy the trip as much. Now we plan to hit the slot machines. And luckily there is a Sonic restaurant near by. You don't know how important Sonic is until you find yourself in a land where they don't have sonic. Casino reservations have been made. Off we go as soon as school is up.

The End of Vacation

Well, we are heading home soon and our vacation will be at an end.  It has been a fun time even if there were a few bumps along the way.  We decided to do something a little different and the adventure was worth the snags.  I think we got a lot of rest and relaxation on this trip.  Of course, I am writing this before the long trek home.  Black has work and I have school on Monday so the crazy life begins again.  I hope the kittens are having fun on their vacation.  I miss them a lot.  I will have to keep myself busy so that the summer will whiz by...

Under the Weather

Poor Black, he isn't feeling too well.  I hope he gets better soon.  Vacation is no fun without him.

Travel Time!

We had to crawl out of bed before the sun came up to get the kittens to the airport on time.  Everything moved liked clockwork except Black must have looked suspicious because he had to go through the giant sniffer/x-ray at the security screening.  I wonder if it was because he was escorting Kit.  She was rocking that rebel teen look complete with blue fur.  After the kittens, left Black and I went home to take a catnap before heading out of town to start our little vacation.  Ka'ching!

Vacation Begins

This week is Spring Break from school. This is for the kids, as well as my college class. So I planned to take the week off from school. Our family decided to go on vacation.

We headed South to visit some of colonial America. Check in time was 4:00 PM. We got to our destination early. As we were hungry, we stopped by Sonic. They do not have these drive throughs where we live. So we love it.

Sonic was a bit chilly. There was a high wind outside. But we braved it and quickly ate our food. At checkin the guy thought we reserved two units. I told him we only needed one. Our key did not seem to work in our door. That's when we realized we were in the wrong building. Ooops.

Off to Disney World

My cat parents invited me and the family over for Christmas. It was time to figure out what our family was going to do for my vacation Christmas week. If we had some money, I thought we would visit Disney World in Florida. Well we might not have the money. But you only live once. So I decided we should go for it.

Hotels dot com found us a good place to stay. It has a separate bed for each of us cats. And it does not cost an arm and a leg (or paw). We went with our most frequent airline to get there. That is SouthWest. So now you know we are free to roam about the country.

Our trip is going to last a monster seven days. That should give us time to sample a little of everything in Orlando. We will hit SeaWorld - love them fish. Of course we shall go to Disney World. There is Universal Studios. I think we shall see the Epcott Center as well. Some spots such as the Animal Kingdom are maybes. They got some big cats there I bet. We will report back on how the trip goes. Maybe we will talk Little Kat into writing that status report.
