Warehouse Pickup

Today I planned to pick up our new dishwasher at the store's warehouse. My sales associate gave me printed directions on how to get to the store. I was going to drop by the warehouse at lunch. But a meeting ran late through lunch time.

Next I figured I would go after work to pick up the washer. Guess what? Another meeting was running late. Luckily my meetings are all using conference calls over the phone. I participated in the meeting, but then just dropped off after about an hour. Let's hope they don't miss me.

I was thinking ahead and brought my truck to work. I followed the instructions on the paper. It had me following a road through many turns. I got to one stoplight and realized I needed to make a right turn. Good thing there was no traffic because I made that right turn from the middle lane.

Then I took a drive and my instincts told me I needed to go right. I could not find any street signs at the intersections. I decided to trust my spider sense and turned around. Yep. I had missed a critical turn. Once I got to the warehouse, it was very easy to get my big package. Now let's get this thing installed. That's a story for another time though.

The Bentley Grill

Kit Kat wants to get a job. Momoko does not want to drive her to and from work. It seems like it is time for Kit Kat to drive by herself. The scrappy option would be to let her drive my truck. However it is a manual transmission. Momoko says that would be too diffifult.

One option would be for me to sell Momoko my car for cheap, then buy a new one for myself. I had my eye on the Nissan Cube for a while. However the low price one I had my eye on looks like it got sold. Little Kat and I were driving home one day from shopping. I saw what looked to be a used Bentley in a dealer's lot.

A little research showed that this was really a Chrysler that had a Bentley grill installed. Good enough for me. The car is 1 year old. The cost is a bit high. But hey. It has a Bentley grill. If I find that it is an authentic grill from Bentley, I will buy the thing. I suspect it is a fake replica.

Cat and Mouse

Little Kat got me a nice pair of grippy gloves for Christmas. I put them out in the shed before visiting Grannie Cat. When we got back from our trip, I found that a mouse had chewed up the right glove. It was totally useless now. Time for Black Cat's revenge.

I got some delicious cheese and baited a trap. However this was a smart mouse. He ate the cheese without springing the trap. So I got a bigger piece of cheese and moved the trap slightly. This morning I found that the trap got him. Poor little guy. I don't mind him hiding in my shed. But don't eat up my new gloves.

My old truck seems to have tires that lost a lot of air this winter. One tire seemed flat. I went to Citgo to fill up the tires with air. Luckily I have a digital tire pressure reader. All four tires got filled to proper inflation. Then I tried to get some gas. The pumps were out of service. I drove to Exxon and found their pumps out of service too. I thought something might be going on. And I was forced to go fill up at the Evil Shell. Let's hope their gas does not kill my truck.

Weekend Start

This morning I woke up and called Momoko. She needed a freezer and fridge delivered to her work. And I am the guy with the pickup truck. Before work I headed over there to make the delivery. Momoko told me I could park in the reserved spot at her work. Then I was off to my own work.

I was planning an early departure from work. Of course the customer came calling in the afternoon. I called my team leader. He got the boss on the phone. We were supposed to talk about the customer problems. However the boss wanted to spend a lot of time talking about the whole team's work.

Well I excused myself from that conversation and hauled out of work. I went to the theater to meet Momoko and the children. They were nowhere to be found. I called them up, and they were on the way. We say The Vampire's Assistant. Good stuff. Now Kit Kat is off with her friends at a pre-Halloween party. Time for Little Kat to fry us up some dinner.

Camping Weekend

Mamma Kat and I decided that we would go camping last weekend. Kit Kat was not happy with this, since it interfered with her birthday plans. We trumped her complaints. However we did allow her to invite two other cats from her school to join us.

Kit Kat and her friends stayed up very late the night before camping. So it took them a while to wake up. We all went to eat a good breakfast at the Silver Diner. Kit Kat got some strange drink to go with her breakfast. I thought it was a fancy chocolate milk.

We packed up the back of my truck. Then we formed a Caravan with Mamma Kat's new car to a camp site I had reserved for us. We found a square pad filled with gravel. As we started to put together our tents, we noticed we were missing tent poles for our main tent. Little Kat and I took the truck back home to retrieve the poles. We also drove the truck to buy some firewood at the camp site. Little Kat was in charge of building cooking fires for the weekend.

As we settled down to play some games with Kit Kat and her friends, it started to rain. We then decided to put the rain proof part of the tent over top of the tents. The only problem was that we were missing that for the main tent. Mamma Kat scrambled to tie together a make shift rain fly to prevent us from getting soaked. Then fun was only just beginning. Some wild band of boy campers next to us broke out the guitar and played in the rain. Nice huh?
