Setting the Boundary

When we bought our house, I decided against paying for a boundary survey. We got a piece of paper that said where the edge of our property was. It was not exact.

Then we noticed some slackers back on the rear part of our property. It was time to put a stop to that. Our fence only enclosed a small portion of our land. So I looked into getting a new fence.

I hired a company to do a boundary survey. They put stakes on the edges of our property. Now those stakes are getting old and weak. So I drove some 4x4 pressure treated lumber in the ground to mark the boundaries of our yard.

When you had the survey done was it correct or did you gain or loose a few inches? Once again master fixer to the rescue.

The survey showed that our fence is too close in. The real property line extends a few feet to the left and right, and really far in the back.
