Airport Blues

Today is our last day in Orlando. We cleaned out our hotel room. Checkout was quick, and we got up early, so we hit Sonic first.

The airport itself was easy to find. It was not clear where we needed to return our rental car. We had to turn around at least once. Others were confused too.

There was more confusion once we got inside the airport. There were no signs for our airline. I asked a janitor. He told me I was on the wrong side of the airport.

Security lines were short at the airport. We found our gate. But the flight got delayed. Now they have changed the departure gate as well. I hope we get home soon.

Out to Eat

Even though we are here in Orlando, the family decided to take a day off today. We have gone to theme parks for the last 5 days. It was about time to take it easy.

The biggest choice today was to figure out where to eat. Mamma Kat rejected the idea to go to Chinese buffet. She led us to Perkins restaurant instead

Little Kat was happy. We made him get a kids meal. It came with soda, a cookie, extra side orders, and a lot of food.

Dinner was the only other choice. We were thinking about Sonic. However we ended up waiting in line for Olive Garden. That was some good cooking. We even brought some back to our hotel room. Time to return home tomorrow. I got our boarding passes already.

Magic Kingdom Denied

Today we decided to go to Disney’s Magic Kingdom. While driving there, Mamma Kat thought she saw a sign stating that the park was closed. When we approached the parking lot, we saw all the cars turning around and leaving. The parking attendant told us that the park was closed. All we got were some coupons.

We rode around for a while then parked. The family decided against a trip to Disney Studios. Instead we returned to Epcot. The Test Track ride that Little Kat wanted to go on was still too long a wait. Therefore we visited the side of the park that we had skipped before.

After getting a fast pass, we headed to the Temple of Mexico. At first it seemed like a tourist trap with a bunch of stores. However the center of the exhibit had a boat ride. We then used our fast pass to jump the line at Norway’s Maelstrom. It was supposed to be a ship ride. The ship hit a dead end, went backwards for a long ride, then took a sharp drop down. Yikes.

Mamma Kat made us go to the German exhibit to eat some brats. I insisted we watch a patriotic presentation about the USA. By then we were tired, and took a boat ride across a huge lake to avoid a long walk around it. I rested as the cats did a lot of shopping at a number of Disney stores.

Seaworld

Yesterday me and the family visited Seaworld here in Orlando. We could not find a good place to eat before arriving. So we grabbed some chicken platters inside the Seaworld park.

I saw some sharks up close. They had evil looking beady eyes. And from a distance I saw Shamu the killer whale. Even from the cheap seats Shamu looked huge. Kit Kat and Little Kat went up close to Shamu and got seriously splashed.

My favorite attraction was a Chinese acrobat show to a deep sea background. There was so much action on that stage that I could not keep up with it. As we left the park by tram, some cat tried to jump off while it was moving and got hurt. Ouch.

Universal Studios

I slept in a little this morning. Mamma Kat wanted us to get to Universal Studios early. By the time I got up, we only had time for a couple burgers for breakfast.

It was a total maze to find the official parking for Universal Studios. Once parked, we took advantage of moving sidewalks to get us to the entrance. We had to wait a long time in line to purchase tickets.

We opted for express passes which cost extra, but allowed us to skip long lines. My favorite attraction was a rock show headlined by Beetlejuice. This show featured a great singer playing the Bride of Frankenstein.

The rest of the family wanted to see Blue Man Group in concert. I just did not have the energy. However I did have enough energy to take the family to Golden Corral for dinner. Tomorrow I wanted to relax. But the family is talking about wanting to visit SeaWorld.

Trip to Epcot

Today we headed to Epcot for some more Disney fun. The day started bad. Mamma Kat guided me with directions to drive to Epcot. However we got onto a toll road that needed exact change. We did not have any change. I had to run through the toll booth without paying.

We got to Epcot and took a twisty tram ride into the park. There was some good news at the front door. We got a discount because it was the second day we had gone to a park. We hurried up and got passes to 2 rides.

I chose my ride to be one that was not too crazy. It was a slow boat ride through a cave where they taught you about farming. The ride was mildly entertaining. Then we went to a ride that Kit Kat chose. We went back in time to learn about energy. Some cat at the end of my row got scared of the dinosaurs we met. He ran up the row to sit next to me, far away from the huge dinosaurs.

There was a free exhibit at Epcot. We got to taste all the drinks that Coca Cola serves around the world. Some of them tasted like ginger. Others tasted like a spicy Coke. And some were just nasty. We got little cups that we filled with soft drink dispensers ourselves.

The last stop was the gift shop. It was so crazy we had to leave before we got anything. Luckily we found another gift shop before we left. A lot of things were on sale there. I got a shirt. The kids got hats. Mamma Kat got some little globe. Tomorrow we hit Universal Studios. See you then.

Day One at Disney

We decided to first visit Animal Kingdom on our trip. Before entering the park we ate at Sonic. It took a while to figure out that that Sonic is located within Walmart stores here.

The parking lot was full on arrival. A train took us to the Animal Kingdom entrance. As we entered the park, we learned that our one day passes were good for "fast passes". That means we can sign up to skip the lines and get on rides immediately.

We had a most interesting ride in the Safari. It took us through dirt paths and water. We saw many real animals in the jungle. Kit Kat talked us into going on some bug ride. I got poked and sprayed by evil bugs. Then Mamma Kat talked us into another ride. It was too late before I realized it was white water rafting (which got us drenched).

The last ride was a time travel one to see dinosaurs. The whole family hung on for dear life. The ride was in the dark. The kart rocked back and forth wildly. We all recouperated in the hotel room, preparing for tomorrow's adventure at Epcot.

Travel Trouble

We plan to vacation at Disney World in Orlando. I got airline tickets with Southwest Airlines. I got advanced boarding passes to obtain good seats. Southwest has a general boarding. That means there are no assigned seats.

At first I was surprised. The boarding passes seemed to go quickly as soon as I was able to log in to get them. I feared a full flight.

On the day of departure, me and Lil Kat loaded up the car. When we got to the airport, we were missing the crucial bag with boarding passes. We sped back home to retrieve this bag.

The check in and security lines were very small. Our flight was delayed due to ice storms. The plane eventually arrived. We had plenty of room. The kids got window seats. Things were looking up.

Off to Disney World

My cat parents invited me and the family over for Christmas. It was time to figure out what our family was going to do for my vacation Christmas week. If we had some money, I thought we would visit Disney World in Florida. Well we might not have the money. But you only live once. So I decided we should go for it.

Hotels dot com found us a good place to stay. It has a separate bed for each of us cats. And it does not cost an arm and a leg (or paw). We went with our most frequent airline to get there. That is SouthWest. So now you know we are free to roam about the country.

Our trip is going to last a monster seven days. That should give us time to sample a little of everything in Orlando. We will hit SeaWorld - love them fish. Of course we shall go to Disney World. There is Universal Studios. I think we shall see the Epcott Center as well. Some spots such as the Animal Kingdom are maybes. They got some big cats there I bet. We will report back on how the trip goes. Maybe we will talk Little Kat into writing that status report.

Back to College

At work I am thinking I may need to learn some more programming skills to prepare for the long haul. The next version of the system I work on will use technologies I am not familiar with. My plan is to go back to college to help my studying.

Today I took the morning off from work. I went to the local community college where I recently enrolled. I had read the schedule of classes and identified where visitor parking was. The problem was that the lots were not clearly marked. Eventually I parked in the right place.

After registering for a spring class, I decided to get a parking sticker for my car. A worker in the book store pointed me out where the Campus Police substation was. When I got there, it was empty. They are the only ones who can issue a parking sticker. That's ok. I decided to go to the Campus Police main office in the facilities building.

This is where it got strange. I had a campus map. I followed along to the edge of the parking lots. Then I passed some tennis courts. There was a small concrete path that I followed. The path ended at a tiny shack. I had to proceed on a dirt path. Finally I made it to Campus Police. Ooops. I did not have my registration. So I made the trek back to my car. As I was walking back on the dirt path, a pickup truck making a lot of noise came up behind me. I bolted toward the concrete path in the front. This college campus is not very cat friendly. Let's hope the class I signed up for is good.

Hunted by Jaguar

I was in my house. Actually it looked more like the house of my parents. I found myself in the basement. And I thought I overheard a conversation upstairs about a jaguar being on the loose. That sounded like crazy talk.

I heard a noise outside. Like a dummy I opened the back door. That's where I saw the jaguar. It was all black. In person this cat looked much more dangerous than just seeing a picture. It had really strong legs. And I thought I could also tell that it had a strong jaw. It seemed to position itself as is it was going to lunge at me and the door. So I hurried to close the door. I had trouble securing the door shut.

After that I ran upstairs. Halfway up the stairs I looked out another door that faced the back yard. I saw the jaguar again. For some strange reason, I wanted to taunt it. I started banging on the window. The jaguar looked a bit confused. I laughed. Then I practiced my escape by seeing how quickly I could run upstairs. I got caught in the upstairs door and decided I should stop this nonsense of teasing this killer cat.

Then I woke up. My muscles were still tense from fearing this jaguar. People say that your dreams all mean something. What does the image of this jaguar mean for me and my future? Is it time to invest in some more home security? Or are my real parent in danger sometimes soon? These are the things that keep a black cat such as myself up at night.

Shop 'til You Drop!

This morning the kittens and I woke up extra early, 3:00 am, to get an early start on Christmas shopping. I made sure the kittens went to bed extra early so that they would not be too tired, but I should have followed my own advise because I was so sleepy that I hit my snooze alarm. Good thing Black woke me when he heard that the kittens were awake or I might still be sleeping! (Thanks sweetie)

This was the first year that Little Kat braved out into the shopping world on a Black Friday. He was pretty excited and in all that excitement he accidentally left his wallet at home. Do not worry, I spotted him the cash because we did not have time to come back home. We wanted to make it out to the mall before 4:00 am.

Kit and I usually do the the Black Friday shopping together so she knows the routine. She got up early and gathered the sale ads and started to make some hot chocolate. I caught her just in time because this year I decided to stop by the 24-hour McDonald's for some gourmet hot cocoa. However, I did not know they would not be open that early because of holiday hours so we we hot cocoa"less" for our adventure.

When we got the mall, it was already pretty crowded. I was lucky that I had been to this mall many times and I knew where the perfect parking spaces were so we did not have to walk too far and we were close to the store exit.

We stood in the cold November morning for less than 10 minutes before the store opened and everyone crowded in to the store. Happy Shopping!!

Carpet Cleaners

This Thanksgiving we are having company over for dinner. So Mamma Kat decided it was time to get the carpets cleaned. Usually we do this ourselves. We have a carpet cleaning machine. However the last time we did it, the results were not that good.

Mamma Kat decided to let the professionals do our carpets. They will come and move the furniture themselves. We did have to do a little cleaning first. We took most of the little stuff out of the rooms that were getting cleaned. Then we ran the normal sweeper there to get rid of the dust.

The carpet cleaning team is scheduled to arrive early tomorrow morning. That should give it plenty of time to dry before the Thanksgiving festivities begin. Go team.

Clogged Gutters

This weekend's rain has proven that our rain gutters are clogged. The water runs down the roof, and enters a gutter filled with leaves. The water is supposed to go down the gutter downspout. Instead it pours out the side of the gutter. That's the way you end up with a wet basement.

I climbed up and poked some holes into the downspout. That got some water going down the right way. But you know us cats. We hate to get our paws we. So I called up Tony. He runs a window cleaning service. But those cats are not afraid to climb up on the roof and clean out your gutters.

Tony and his crew are coming to the house Wednesday. Those cats aren't afraid of anything. They even clean out the dirt in your gutters with a hose they carry up to the roof. My hat is off to them. Any cat that can wield a hose and not be afraid has my respect.

Give me a Filet

Mamma Kat had to do some school work. So she left early this morning even though it is the weekend. That left me alone with the kids. I had to buy some materials. But I was hungry.

Since I was in a hurry, I stopped by McDonald's for some fast food. I ordered a Southern Style Chicken Sandwich. It cost me $2.99 for just the sandwich. I was hungry so I also ordered a Fillet-o-Fish. That rang up as 99 cents. Yee haw.

I don't know why there was a sale on fish fillet. But I did not argue with them. The real surprise was when Mamma Kat came home. She also picked up some fast food. And she got me a Fillet-o-Fish too. Great minds think alike I say. Us cats love that fish.

Lots of Leaves

The leaves have almost all fallen off the trees. And they have landed in our yard. I tried to ignore them. But the two neighbors next to us have raked their leaves. Now our house looks bad.

So I woke up this morning, ate a quick breakfast, and went out to deal with the leaves. They were heavy because they were still wet. It has been raining this week on and off. It took a couple hours just to get started on some of these evil leaves.

Just as I was finishing up, the rain started to pour down. I got drenched. The rain gutters started clogging up. I climbed up the ladder, and scooped out the leaves blocking the downspout. Did I mention that I don't like the rain?

Cujo Attacks

Since it was the weekend, Mamma Kat and I sat back and watched a Kung Fu movie. Little Kat was doing his work. He took out the trash. When he came back in, he said our neighbor got locked out of his house. The family did not know what to do. So I went out and asked the neighbor to come in.

There was one problem. He had Cujo with him. You know? Cujo is the big killer dog. I am a friendly neighbor. But I have no love for Cujo. I went back in and put my shoes on. Then I got a coat and brought out our wireless phone.

Immediately Cujo pounced on me. Luckily his owner restrained him. That's right Cujo. Know your role. If Cujo comes at me again, I'm gonna give him a slap with our phone. That will teach him. Dogs.

Big Trash Can

I woke up pretty early this morning. But I was still the last one of out the house. Kit Kat had just caught her bus to school. As I was heading out to my car, I saw a big trash can in our driveway.

That puzzled me. It is not trash day. I checked and all our big trash cans were up in our carport. Then I noticed that all my neighbors had a trash can in their driveway too. And all the trash cans looked the same.

It was then that I figured it out. These were not trash cans. They were new recycling bins that the county had given to us. They just look like trash cans because of their shape and size. Great. Now Little Kat can start up the massive recycling project he wants to do. Right now I only put old newspapers in our little recycling container.

Good Priced Gas

Last night I drove by the local gas station. They always have the cheapest gas. But there was an extra long line in front just to get in. As I passed by, I saw the reason. Gas had hit $1.99 for 87 octane.

Maybe it was a fluke. I was still happy to see it. Other gas stations will have to lower their price to compete. Today at lunch we passed another gas station we usually stop at. They also had $1.99 a gallon for the low octane. Sweet.

Now I know the trick at this gas station. The gas is filled with ethanol. You know. That's the stuff that is made from corn. It is not good for your car. But two bucks for gas is good for my wallet. The cat mobile will have to make due.

Science Fair

Little Kat needed to do some work for his science fair project. His idea was to test if building shape affects how well it can stand an earthquake. Here was the setup. Little Kat would create buildings out of sugar cubes. He would then put them on a box that was shaken by being on a treadmill. He would count how many sugar cubes fell down. That way he could figure measure the damage they took from a simulated earth quake.

Little Kat had grand plans to build his first built with about 150 sugar cubes. He could not get the building to stand up. Once he got to the third level of the building, the cubes kept falling down. Little Kat had to revise his design. He would create buildings that used about 20 sugar cubes. These he could erect quickly. But these were too sturdy and would not fall apart even when the treadmill was set to its highest level.

Finally Little Kat had to design buildings that would actually fall apart. He knew to make the buildings skinny and tall. We still only got one of them to fall down during the test run. Little Kat came up with a weird pentagon shaped building that fell apart when the treadmill started going fast. Good luck Little Kat in your science fair activities. I know you will have a lot to talk about with the judges.

Hurry up and Wait

Normally I sleep in on the weekends. This weekend was different. The store was scheduled to deliver and assemble our NordicTrack elliptical exercise machine. They were supposed to come in the morning. So I got up early.

It was afternoon before the delivery cats called. They asked if we could reschedule the delivery. I told them that was just not possible. They arrived later that afternoon. It was some heavy equipment. I knew I made the right choice having the store deliver it.

Mamma Kat talked me into trying the machine. After 5 or 10 minutes, I felt like my legs were gonna fall off. This was on the easiest setting. Now I am still sore. Little Kat seems to have no problem using the machine for long periods at a time.

Shake a Tail and Vote!

The cool thing about being a teacher is that you do not have to work on election days because they use the school for a polling place. So the kittens and I had a day off!!! I made sure that I painted my fingernails red, white, and blue. I got the idea from Kit, but don't tell her. I wanted to be in the voting spirit. I woke up early (9 ish) to go with Black to vote. I was very much surprised to see there was no line and we were able to vote very quickly. I hope the rest of the day goes by as smoothly and I hope every one gets a chance to vote today!

Happy Sales Guy

Today my lunch buddy at work decided to skip going out. So I had to eat lunch by myself. This was not a bad thing. As you may recall, the family went to the mall this weekend. We looked at exercise equipment. Mamma Kat decided on the model of NordicTrack she wanted. I decided to sleep on it before buying.

And was I glad I did pause a bit. The next day, the store had the one Mamma wanted at another $100 off the price. So for lunch I went back to the mall. The food court in the mall was very crowded. Therefore I went straight to the store and skipped lunch.

I asked a couple salespeople if they could help me with a NordicTrack. They both pointed to the guy we talked to this weekend. He was busy with other customers. But my presence made him end his sales talk quickly. I asked him when could I get this NordicTrack delivered and installed. He said this Saturday. And with that I bought the thing.

The sales cat was very happy. He said this was the first time he sold any of this model. I bet that is because it is the most expensive one in the lineup. The extra sale helped make it more affordable. I think the sales cat gets a good commission for selling the top model. He told me sales are slow due to the bad economy. That's why they can deliver it so quickly. As long as the delivery goes well, I think this will be a purchase that is good for all us cats. We will keep you posted.

NordicTrack

Mamma Kat has been wanting me to get a NordicTrack exercise machine for the family. Now I don't know about you. But I am not sure how a cat is supposed to use such a large contraption. Nevertheless, I brought the family to Sears Roebuck Saturday morning.

Little Kat and Mamma Kat showed me the model they spied before. I had Little Kat show me how it worked. The sales guy screamed from afar that kids we not allowed on the exercise machines. I asked the guy to come over, and explained that I needed the whole family to test out the machine so I can tell whether we will buy it. The guy said as long as I did not hold the store responsible for anybody getting hurt, the kids could try it under adult supervision.

And with that Little Kat and Kit Kat tried out the machine. It apparently has a bunch of video games built in to entertain you while you exercise. It took a little coaxing to get Mamma Kat up on the machine. But it was good. She found out she liked another machine better. Too bad the other one cost a lot more money. I told the sales guy I had to sleep on such a big decision. And with that we drove to Fuddrucker's for burgers. But that is a story for another post.

Happy Halloween!!!

Well, it's Halloween but the kittens have found other kittens to play with tonight. That means we are kittenless tonight and Black and I home alone. Of course, Black said he just wants to take a cat nap while I man the door with candy for the Trick- or- Treaters. I am not sure I like this plan but someone has to get rid of last year's candy or do I? Have a great night everyone!

King Cobras

Mamma Kat asked me to take Little Kat to a meeting with his friends. There was going to be a prize for the first 10 cats that arrived. Luckily Little Kat was cat number 7 that arrived. He won a blue little Nerf football.

Little Kat joined a smaller group of cats. His group had to come up with a cheer for the group. Little Kat and another cat thought they should be called The King Cobras. I thought this was strange. Cobras are part of the snake family, not the feline family. The cats put it to a vote. King Cobras won.

Little Kat's team needed to come up with a slogan. The first part was easy. "Who are we? King Cobras!". Little Kat thought everybody should then say, "We bite you." The older cats recommended a more positive message. So the group decided to say, "What sound do we make? Hissssss."

I looked around the gathering when I had some free time. There were a lot of mother cats there. I spotted a father kat that was on crutches. Mamma Kat was supposed to meet at the meeting. We never saw her. The meeting place was extra warm. It smelled like fish. This should be a good thing for us cats. The meeting ended with a crazy dance by all the kiddie cats.

Getting Rocks

Our back yard slopes down to a creek at the bottom of the hill. This is nice because all the water runs down to the creek and not into our house. However we do have a problem. The water seems to be washing away our hill.

It is getting so no cats can walk along the back side of our house. The water has washed away the ground. So all that is left is a steep slope. Time for Black Cat to come to the rescue. My plan is to build up a retaining wall to hold up our dirt and form a level path.

So far I have dug four holes, and secured four posts into the ground. I have also nailed up long plywood to form our wall. If I were a slacker cat, I would just pile up the dirt now to form our path. But if the water got stuck in all that dirt, we would have a landslide. Dirt with water is heavy. I need to build up some drainage. So today I bought a couple drainage pipes, and a bunch of crushed rock.

At first I thought I would need the store to fill my truck with the rocks. However I found out from my bro cat that they sold crushed rock in small bags. That was perfect. All this cat and his truck could carry was 10 bags today. That should make for a good start. Tomorrow I might return and buy another 10 to 12 bags of rocks. I will take some pictures when I make more progress on my work.

Getting Reading for Halloween

Well, it seems like the kittens are ready for Halloween. They both have their costumes picked out and ready to go. Kit is going to be a Midnight Fairy and Little is going to be a Clone Trooper this year. I wonder what Black and I are going to wear. Time is running out!

Nobody Home

I worked hard today. When I came home, I found Little Kat home all alone. I also found an advertisement for Chinese food in the door. There were no groceries at home. So I decided Little Kat and me should order some Chinese food takeout.

The ad had the phone numbers for the Chinese food restaurant. I called the first number. It was busy. I tried the second number. It was busy too. I could not get in touch with them. Maybe everybody got an ad from them and was calling them up.

Little Kat and I decided to drive to another Chinese food restaurant. On the way to the Chinese food place, we spied Ruby Tuesdays. That is another restaurant known for its yummy salad bar. It was settled. Little Kat and I were going to eat at Ruby Tuesdays.

Little Kat was happy when we say down. We had a small booth that had a chair he thought was just the right size. We looked through the large menu. Both of us knew we were going to add the salad bar to our dinner. Little Kat ordered a Buffalo Chicken Burger meal. This was a chicken sandwich with Buffalo hot sauce on it. I decided to have the same. It came with piping hot thin french fries.

After we placed out order, Little Kat and I ran up to the salad bar. Ruby Tuesdays has fancy square plates. We loaded up some iceberg lettuce. I spied Little Kat going for some chick peas and lima bean. I preferred the green peppers and cucumbers. Both of us opted to eat the darn brown chewy croutons that Ruby Tuesdays offered. Dinner was excellent.

Brush Clearing

Now that I got the guys to find out exactly where my yard property lines are, I am read to clear a way for the fence. The area behind our house is a wooded forest. Now I am not ready to cut down any huge trees. But I figure I can chop down any small brush that I encounter.

I do want to exercise some caution. You never know what kind of critters are hanging out in the forest. It could be some deer, or a fox, and more likely snakes. But hey. It might even be some evil dog. I might have to go out there prepared to encounter any kind of predator.

Ok. Now its time to start chopping. Ooops. It is already dark. I do not trust the wild forest when the sun is not shining. I guess I have to save this task for another day. Long live our fence.

The Fence Guys

Our house has a fence surrounding the back yard. At least part of the back is fenced. But we have many different fences on the different sides. One of them is falling apart. The other got broken by a falling tree. The last one is made of chain link and does not look good.

So I got the fence guy to come out. Actually I had two of them come out. Both of them said a new fence would cost a lot of $$$. They also said they could not find out where the edge of our yard was. For that I would need to hire a surveyor.

I called up one of the surveyors to find out where our yard actually ends and the neighbor's begins. Two cats came out in a pick up truck. They came with some shovels. They found the end points of the property. Then they drove stakes in the ground to mark them. They tied some red flags to the stakes so you can see them from far away. Great. Now I can see we have a huge yard. This is going to take a lot of catnip to pay the fence man.

Soup and Ginger Ale

Today we I got up I noticed that Kit was still in bed. I thought the silly kat had overslept because yesterday was a day off from school and she had stayed up rather late. I could hear her moaning from beneath the covers and she said she was sick. I could tell right away from the way she looked that she was not feeling good so I had Little Kat bring her a ginger ale to help settle her stomach. I hope she feels better. We will get her some soup later when she is feeling a little stronger because that always seems to do the trick.

LOOK AT ME!

hey go to Little Kat's blog now

Persevere

I need a new project at work. So I talked with my manager Sharri. She had Eric send me an email. His email said to contact Miki. I sent an email to Miki. An automatic reply came back saying I should contact Andrea. An email to Andrea went unanswered. I emailed Eric back, asking for some help. He did not reply either.

Ok. So I waited a while. Then I called Eric and left him a phone message. I also emailed him again. He gave me Miki’s phone number. I called her up. Her voice mail told me to call Carmen. I did. Carmen told me I needed to speak with Andrea. I asked her for Andrea’s phone number. Carmen tried to look it up. But she said Andrea’s phone number was not listed.

I told Carmen I really needed to speak with Andrea. Carmen told me to hold on. She went and tracked down Andrea. And then I got her phone number. Finally I got in touch with Andrea. She told me to give her some information, and she would try to get me a project. We had some more communication. Right now I am waiting to hear back. If I don’t, you know I’m going to be calling Andrea soon.

The moral of this story is to never give up. At many points I could have given up and failed. But that would have only hurt me. I had to keep pressing on. Maybe sometimes people get busy and forget about you. That’s why you have to keep on top of the communications. Finally, I must mentioned that some of the above names may have been changed to protect the innocents cats in my company. Or maybe not.

Cat Names

I have been trying to get Little Kat to start blogging but he is nervous because he is still learning how to spell. I told him it does not really matter if everything is spelled correctly on a blog but it is important to get your thoughts and ideas down. He did say he gets a little confused because he always calls me "mama" so I decided to change my name to "Mama". I guess you can call me "Mama" too.

Nobody Listening

I got word from my team leader that the big boss wanted to have a conference call. All the cats on my team were to call in to the same phone number. That way we could all hear what the big boss had to say. This way supposed to be an important discussion. We were to find out what our next assignments on the team were.

The time came for the meeting. I dialed in. The conference had not started. I stayed on hold. I waited and waited. After a while I thought something was wrong. I called my team leader with my cell phone. He said he thought we were supposed to call in. I called the big boss directly. No answer. I left him a voice message saying we were waiting for him on the conference line.

In the end, the system automatically disconnected me from the conference call. The call never started. Oh well. That was probably going to be a long discussion anyway. With the extra free time, I decided to browse the web. Go me.

Rock Star Cat

Black Cat here. Sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been busy with work. Went out of town for a couple days. Had to do some training with my company. The good news is that they gave me a hotel.

Well the hotel was ok. It was close to the place I went to train. The bed was too soft. They had a big screen TV. I watched some Family Guy episodes late at night.

In other news, I got my company to buy me some business cards. At first they did not want to let me have the title of "Rock Star" on my cards. I had to talk them into it. Finally they agreed. I just got the cards in the mail today. Do you want one?

Happy Birthday Little Kat!!!

Today Little Kat celebrated his birthday. His day started with the traditional singing of "Happy Birthday" and then he wanted to open his presents first thing this morning. After school, we picked up his best friend and they played until dinner time. We all went to dinner and the day ended with a lot more playing. I guess cleaning up will happen tomorrow.

Can you hear me now?

Well, it looks like our family is on the path to technology. We have decided to step into the world of texting. Now that Kit has gotten a little older, we decided that she could handle the responsibility of having a phone of her very own. She really wanted to start texting but with our current phone plan it cost money every time you send or receive a text message. So yesterday, we went phone "window" shopping to see what was out there. It seems that adding unlimited texting to our current phone plan will not be too much money. Now that I think about it, maybe Little could use a new needs a phone too. The questions is... Can he handle the responsibility? Black and I are going to the phone shop to pick up a phone or two or three or maybe even four....

Chicken Out

It was a long day at work for this cat. I was happy to leave and come home. So I am driving my car. Who do I see ahead of me at the light? It is Kitty Kat.

I pull in to the house right behind her. She and the kids have a lot of bags. Guess they went shopping. I grabbed the mail and followed into the house.

Good news. Kitty got us some dinner. I like it when I don't have to hunt for my food. We are eating Chicken Out tonight. You know cats love chicken. And the cows are happy with that too. Mmm mmm. I love a Caesar salad when there are chicken strips on top. Thanks Kitty.

Washing Woes

It is the weekend. So it is time to wash all my cat clothes for the week. I got up early today. Put my white clothes in the washer. Kitty brought me some breakfast. Yummy.

After chowing down, I went to put my clothes in the dryer. But they were still stinky. Was the washer broken? No. It seems that Little Kat must have gone to the bathroom in the washing machine.

Bad kat. Don't you know we have a litter for that? Sheesh. Well I am washing my clothes again. I can't go out this week in stinky clothes. That's the whole point for doing the laundry.

Time to Take a Break

Life has been moving at a record pace lately. I seem to be on the go most of the time. I have been looking forward to the weekend so that I can just relax but that has not seemed to happen yet.

On Friday, I stayed late at work to avoid having to go in on Sunday. Being a teacher, you have a lot of things to do to be prepared for class and a lot of it happens after the bell rings. I also had to drop off Little at a friend's house because he was sleeping over. I had a parent conference and I had to pick up Kit at school because she is a "Prop Girl" for the school's drama department.

After I picked up Kit, I brought her back to my school and we worked for a few more hours. We were both pretty tired. We decided to eat at home and watch a movie. I try to have a "date" night with each of my kittens so that they can have my undivided attention and we can do something we both enjoy. Kit and I watched a "cat-chick-flick". We rolled into bed about midnight.

On Saturday, I had to deal with a flat tire and run some errands. I did get to watch a movie with Kit after Little went to bed (gotta sneak in the "cat-chick-flicks" whenever you can).

And here it is Sunday morning, and I am about to go back to school and work. I think I might be putting in TOO many hours but sometimes you have to do what it takes.

A Flat Tire

Last night, Kitty Kat told me she had a flat tire on her car. So I woke her up this morning. And we drove to the tire store. Her tire still had enough air to make it there. We talked to the tire man. It was going to cost some big bucks. But we had to get it fixed.

After dropping off Kitty's car, we drove down the road. We picked up a little Chinese food. Hey. Cats can eat Chinese food too. It was quite delicious. No reason to go hunting if you can buy lunch.

My little bro cat visited me this afternoon. We watched a movie. Then me, my little bro cat, and Kitty went back to the tire shop. Kitty got her car back. The new tire looks good. Watch out. Cats are out on the road now. Unstoppable.

Little Kats

Tonight Little Kat went to visit one of his kat friends. He is going to spend the night there. Kitty Kat and Kit Kat were off doing some work. So I came home to an empty house today.

Luckily I knew nobody would be home. And so I picked up a little cat treat for myself. Yay. Now I am listening to some music. Treat tasted pretty good.

What is that? I hear some noise outside. Maybe Kitty and Kit are home. I had better go then.

Cat Talk

Me and some of the other cats at work were supposed to have a talk today. We were going to tell other cats what we have been doing. It has been set up for a long time. So I got up very early this morning.

Although I hate water, I cleaned myself up before the talk. I found it strange that I was the only cat who showed up at first. Then a lot of other cats who wanted to hear us showed up to. I had to start talking without any of my cat friends from work. What gives?

It seems all the other cats got stuck somewhere while trying to come to our meeting place. Most of them showed up by the time the talk was over. But by then it was too late. I had to do all the talking. Ouch. Come on guys. Back up your cat bro.

Need to Eat

I was getting ready to come home from work today. So I called up Kitty Kat. She said we were out of food at home. Yikes. That's no fun. Luckily Kitty assembled all her kat power, and went out to hunt. That's more like it.

On the way home from work, I passed by Kitty in action. Looks like she was hunting for some big game. I felt happy, knowing my dinner was to be served soon.

A little while later, Kitty came back with some eats in her mouth. Delicious. I can't write any more. My chow awaits.
