Forever by Chris Brown Part 2
This is a parody of the wedding entrance I put up earlier. It is interesting to see how people react to videos. Seems everyone wants to copy a "good" thing.

Best Buy
We needed a new answering machine. So on the way home I dropped by the local Best Buy store. There was only one problem. The store was gone. The physical building was still there. But Best Buy had vacated the premises. Ouch.
I needed to get home quick. There was still a lot of work I needed to complete at home. Luckily Walmart was my backup plan. They had cheap answering machines. And I even picked up a couple other things I needed. Thank you Wally World.

Power Outage
I woke up very early this morning. My cat senses told me something was wrong. Then I saw the problem. The alarm clock was off. I flipped the light switch. Yep. We had a power outage. Luckily the hot water is done by gas and not electric. The gas was still working.
So I called the electric company. A message said the outage was already reported. However it would be a few hours before it would be restored. I decided to go in early to work. The local McDonald's had power. I figured a Sausage McMuffin was in order.
When I got home, the power had been restored. The house was cool. So the power was not out long enough for the house to heat up too bad. The only regret I have is that the answering machine seems to have burned out. We just replaced this darn machine recently too.

Change of Plans
Momoko wanted us to go to the beach this summer. We have been busy with work and school. However my vacation is slowly approaching. I tried to find a spot where we could rent a condo on the beach. It seems the best spot for such condo rentals is far away. Then I looked into airline tickets to fly to the beach. But there were no non-stop flights there. The fates have conspired against us.
This week Momoko decided that we should instead go gambling this summer. Last time we went, I got sick so we could not enjoy the trip as much. Now we plan to hit the slot machines. And luckily there is a Sonic restaurant near by. You don't know how important Sonic is until you find yourself in a land where they don't have sonic. Casino reservations have been made. Off we go as soon as school is up.

Loft Completion
Yesterday I went to bed on time. I had to get Momoko to stop work on the loft. It makes too much noise, will all the drilling and hammering. I figured midnight is a good time to call it quits for the day.
Momoko went on to do her college homework in the AM hours. When I woke this morning, I woke up Momoko as well. I needed to go to work. However Momoko talked me into helping her finish off the loft bed for Little Kat.
We measured and screwed in the safety rails that will keep Little Kat from falling off the side of the loft bed. Then we pushed the bed into the corner of Little Kat's room. Momoko put some stuff under the bed to reclaim the space down there. We are done!

Loft Progress
Today Momoko planned to build Little Kat's loft bed. There was just one problem with that. Momoko hurt her little toe. That just meant I had to do more work on this project. For example, I had to carry all the boxes up the stairs. Did I mention these boxes are marked "heavy - use 2 people to lift"? Well they are.
After an afternoon of a lot of electric drill work, the bed started looking like a bed. Momoko tightened four huge bolts that held up the bed. Then she added some screws that stabilized the thing. She asked me to climb up and check it out. The bed is rated to hold up to 1000 pounds. I climbed up and the ladder seemed strong. The top of the bed was good as well (we put Little Kat's mattress on top already).
Right now Momoko is adding all the delicious accessories that we bought with the bed. I think she has some bookshelves and a desk attached already. This thing might actually be done by midnight. Momoko has a lot of the actual pictures. The one shown above is not Little Kat's room. It is just a sample picture.

The news station I watch talked about this video from You Tube. I thought it was hilarious. I hope you enjoy it!
Wedding Dance
Going Green
Yesterday Momoko locked herself in Little Kat's room for most of the day. She was painting the walls green. Unfortunately, Momoko herself got a little green. She kept trying to clean the paint off herself. But the paint kept splashing back on her.
When it was time for dinner, Momoko was still painting. I went out to pick something up for us. Traffic was killer as it was still rush hour. However I managed to snag us some good Chinese food.
Later on Momoko and I watched the movie Step Brothers. Personally I thought it was hilarious. Momoko did not think so. How can you not love a movie where the main character says he is "snapping necks and cashing checks"?

Parade Magazine has Landed
Yesterday I had to stay very late at work. So today I made sure I got off early to make up. When I got home, I did not find Momoko there. Today is the day we get a lot of newspapers delivered to the house. There is one city paper, and two local town papers. I decided to read one of the town papers.
The strange thing was that there were many inserts in the town paper. I guess when times are tough, the stores advertise. The most interesting insert was a copy of Parade Magazine. Normally we get that in our paid city paper. Now it seems we also receive a copy in the free town paper. Perhaps our paper is growing up.
When Momoko finally did come home, she had a salad for me to snack on. Yum yum. Thanks Momoko.

Ready For an Ending
I never thought I would get sick of field trips but I am getting there. I have another field trip on Saturday. This one is over an hour away and I get to do some hiking. I am just ready for my summer classes to end. I think after the field trip I only have 3 classes left of this class and 5 more with my other one.
Today I am trying to get things ready to paint Little's room. Black helped me move some heavy stuff and disconnect the cable from the TV. I hope the kittens are doing well because I haven't heard from them in awhile. I guess they are having too much fun to remember to check in with me.

Run for the Border
Last night Momoko and I were hungry. So I took a drive to the Taco Bell drive through. They are supposed to be opened late.
I knew I was in trouble when I ordered some nachos. They told me they ran out of nacho cheese containers. Then they told me they were running low on Cinnamon twists.
At least I got some food out of these guys. Momoko was happy because they had her nachos bel grande. We ate up and washed some Mushi Shi animation on demand. Good stuff.

Brunch and Paint
Last night Momoko and I stayed up very late. Momoko was working on Little Kat's room. I was playing video games. We had a goal to wake up this morning and do some shopping.
When we woke up, we were very hungry. That was an easy problem to solve. We got brunch at the Silver Diner. Momoko had coupons.
Then we headed to Lowe's. I personally do not like the store. But Momoko prefers them to Home Depot. She especially like their paint department. We had them mix up some blue to paint the trim in Little Kat's room. Momoko and I also chose a shade of green for the new color of Little Kat's room.
Now the real hard work begins. Momoko has to clean Little Kat's room to prep it for painting. And I am going to let her do the actual painting itself. My job is to move the heavy items around.

Heart and Soul
The tire shop patched up Momoko's car tire. So I drove her to pick up her car. On the way home, I saw this cool car up ahead of me. It was the Kia Soul.
The back window was cool. However the back seat looked a little small. I liked the boxy look of the exterior. This one might be my next car. I don't know.
If the Kia Soul does not work out, there is also the Nissan Cube. That's another boxy car in case you did not know.

Package Mania
Today we got a delivery from Fed Ex. Well, it was more like a ding dong ditch. We had FIVE heavy packages dropped off near the front door. The Fed Ex guy waved as he drove away but he did not stay to help bring them inside the house. Good thing Black was home. The packages were very, very, very heavy for me. Black kept saying I needed to build up my endurance. I guess I need a weight bench as well as an elliptical. I was huffing and puffing pretty loudly but dang, they were HEAVY and I have little Momoko muscles. In case you were wondering what was in the packages, it's Little's bed pieces. Seems that I have to build it and bring it up the stairs. I guess I will start one piece at a time. I do have to finish taking the wallpaper down and then painting first. I really miss the kittens right now!

Breakfast and Adventures
I had a field trip on Friday. I went to a nature reserve. I have been there many times with the kittens. I was just happy that I wasn't in class. I would much rather take a field trip over a boring lecture any day.
Before my field trip, I took Black to pick up his vehicle and I had the tire people look at my slow leaking tire. They said it could get patched for $20 bucks (YAH!) Then, we enjoyed a nice sit down breakfast together before every one had to head off to work or school.
Absolute Gridlock
The big boss at work said my team needed to meet him. Of course his office is at headquarters, which is on the other side of town. Traffic is evil if you live near a big city.
I got up super early. Was on the road at 6:00am. There were still times I was stopped still on the highway due to traffic. But I made it to headquarters in good time.
Somehow I got trapped at headquarters. I could not leave until rush hour. That meant I got stuck in traffic, or the highway parking lot as I put it. I could not make it back home in time to see my mechanic, who was changing the oil in my truck. Tough day I tell ya.

The Wrong Side of UP
Today I noticed that we lost two fish in the tank. When you buy fish, you get a 15 day warranty and of course that just ran out. Do you think the fish were keeping track of the days? (Yes! It's been more than 15 days I can go at anytime now) When we replace fish, we give the replacements the same name as the one that didn't make it. So, I will be getting a new "Goldie" and "Paco" soon. One of the frogs didn't look so good but it is hard to tell if they are "floating" or just floating. I will keep you posted.
Tire Trouble
Today I drove the boys to lunch. We headed to our favorite Chinese restaurant. As we got there, I felt the car steer funny. I got out of the car at the restaurant and found that my tire was flat. Bummer.
I immediately pulled to the corner of the parking lot. We pulled out the little spare tire. But me and the boys could not find the jack for the car. I consulted the owner's manual. Of course. They hid the jack under the driver seat. Ha ha.
My best buddy at work jumped onto the ground and started jacking up my car. He started complaining that something was wrong. It was hard to jack up the car. My other buddy took over and started well, but got tired too. I did my share and found it surprisingly hard. This is strange as my car is small (and should be light).
We managed to get the tire changed. But my cheap jack is toast. Got to find a better one somewhere. Momoko drove me to Mister Tire where they said they could repair my flat tire. Let's hope so. I don't want to buy any new tires.

Clearing the Forest
We have a lot of land on our property. The fence only encloses a small portion of the land. We want to extend our fence out to the true property line. There is just one problem. The area behind our fence is woods. You could also call it a forest.
Previously I had went back there and chopped a path along our property line. That was last year. Since then the forest has been growing back. It is on a mission. I had to fight back today.
Armed with a hand saw I started chopping through the trees. There was not much progress. I bagged up the pieces I cut and left it out for the trash man. Next step is to save up money to get some dudes to install a big fence.

Working Hard
Today I had to get up before noon (shocking I know).
I had to get ready for my class before that time because I had to participate in an online class discussion at 1 PM that would last until 2:30 PM.
Then I had to drive to my next class (about 30 minutes away ) and it started at 3 PM.
I made it safe and sound only to find out that we were not staying the whole 3 hours. So about 30 minutes later I started heading home. When I got home Black was at home, I decided to order pizza for dinner and chill.

Weekend Activities
This weekend was nice. I was able to do some shopping on Saturday. Nothing too elaborate just some basics. I went to Wally World during my spree and I was surprised to find a fence blocking my favorite parking area. I am not sure why it was there but they fenced off most of the left side, maybe they will be expanding.
On Sunday, I had started my wardrobe spring cleaning. I cleaned out my dresser. I saved a couple of things for Kit and I put the others in bags. I am hoping my sister might be able to use some of the things I am getting rid of. If not, I will donate the clothes.
Later, Black took me to a movie and a late lunch. When I got home, I was sleepy so I took a nap. Black was finishing up his work and when he completed it we split the leftovers from lunch for dinner and watched an independent movie, Blindness.
Up and Away
Sundays are the days I normally do my chores at home. This weekend I got a head start on the laundry and bills on Saturday. That's because Momoko kept asking for us to go to the movies.
Today I had a lot of extra work to do. However I worked quick. Then Momoko and I dashed to the movie theater to see Up. I was glad we did.
After the movie, Momoko was hungry. I thought we could get some Chinese take out. However Momoko did not know what she wanted. We ended up dining in at this great restaurant close to our house. Now it is time for me to get back to work on my chores.

Pizza Rolls to the Rescue
I keep seeing these Pizza Hut pizza rolls commercials on TV. Yesterday I tried to get Momoko to go pick us up some. She went out, but came back with a chicken sandwich for me.
Today I had to take matters into my own hands. I asked my brother if Pizza Hut was fine for dinner. He agreed. We called in an order.
It was chaos when we arrived at Pizza Hut. Apparently they lost our order. I needed those pizza rolls. So I stuck around until they could cook us up some. Mmmm they were good.

That Sister of Mine
I got a call yesterday from my sister. She is trying to take some time off work so that she can visit. I have been hoping that she would come but her schedule has been really crazy. Let's cross our paws that she will get the time off work. I haven't seen my sister in a long time. That is what happens when you move far away from your family. Nevertheless, I am pretty excited!

Stealth Mode
Sometimes I think that I hate my job. It mainly revolves around the times when I am forced into working late or working the weekends. In an ideal world I would just quit. But that won't serve any good purpose. I need to pay those bills. What is a cat to do?
Well I have determined some courses of action. If I have to work late and work weekends sometimes, I should also be able to slack off at other times. Even though I share an office with another guy, he is always on the road. So I essentially have my own office. That has proved beneficial.
Unless I have a meeting I need to go to, I normally don't come in on time any more. I still get my work done because I am very proficient. I also try to get the heck out of work at the end of the day too. I just tell my peers that I am sick of working late every day. Then I just bolt at 3:00 or 3:30 PM regardless of when I get in. This makes me happy. Don't get mad. Just get even.

Killer Traffic
I got tied up at work the other day. So I did not get to leave on time. That's ok I thought. I would just drive home and have a nice dinner with Momoko. As soon as I got on the highway, I knew I was in trouble.
In fact, I knew I was in trouble well before getting on the highway. The thing was a parking lot. It took a long time just to get from the on ramp onto the highway. I turned on the radio. Apparently they shut down a few lanes on the highway. If you do that in rush hour around here, traffic just halts.
In the end I somehow made it to the right hand lane. Then I inched by for an hour. Eventually I just drove off on the shoulder and took the next exit. The back roads got me home a lot faster than if I had to wait it out. It was still a very long and painful ride home.

How Low Can You Go?
Seems that I got a $24 check from the lottery and I had to deposit it in the bank. So my adventure started with me heading for the bank. I backed out of the driveway and I noticed a warning light on my dash. I always get a little nervous when I see lights on my dashboard. I had to pull over and take out the auto manual to figure out what the warning light was for. It was my tire sensor. I guess one of my tires was a little low. I got out and checked all four tires and noticed that my passenger front tire looked a little lower but nothing to be worried about. I headed to the nearest gas station nevertheless. I do not do a lot of mechanical things with my car so even putting air into a tire is pretty intense. I was able to check the tires and the front passenger tire was a little low but not as low as the back passengers tire. I guess it was the one that was low all along. Sad I couldn't tell and my car could. I do not know if I like my car knowing more than me. Well, the tires are properly inflated now and let's hope it's not a slow leak. I made it to the bank, grocery store, and back home again.

Lazy Day!
I had a really easy day today. Black had to get up early and rush off to work. I guess he got off on time. I wouldn't know because I was snoozing and just woke up enough to say goodbye and drive safely. I woke up for real sometime around 11:00 AM. I had two major tasks to complete. The first was to complete some reading for my online class and the second task was to re-stock the toilet paper in the bathrooms. I didn't want to put too much on my plate. After re-stocking, I rested a little bit before Black got home. He was a little late because he was stuck in traffic. I am always glad when he gets home. I decided to make a spaghetti and meatball dinner. Yes, I am such an over-achiever. I have big plans for tomorrow. I am going to venture to the bank and maybe even the grocery store but I want to pace myself.

Phone Woes
Today was a long day for me. I woke up early to read my new book (Options by the Fake Steve Jobs). Then I went in to work early as well. We had a long lunch at the local Mongolian BBQ. They let you choose your ingredients. Then they cook it up on a grill for you.
After work I visited the dentist. Then I got my hair cut. Finally I visited my parents. This was indeed a busy day. So when I got home, I went to bed and took a nap. I was woken by Momoko telling me I had a call. It was Little Kat on the phone.
Little Kat informed me that the went swimming with the cell phone I loaned him. The phone got wet and ceased to work. He said he was desperately trying to dry the thing and hoped it would work. I told him to keep me posted. Then I went back to sleep. We shall see where this takes us.

No Rules. Just Right.
Mamma Kat was hungry when she came home from school today. She asked what I thought about an Outback Steakhouse dinner. That sounded good to me. I love a good steak.
And so Mamma Kat placed an order to go using the Internet. She asked me if I wanted to tag along when she picked up the food. I said ok.
When we got there, they had our food ready. Mamma Kat tried to pay. But she had no credit card. Luckily I always carry my wallet. It would have been sad if she went by herself and had to come all the way home for funds.

The End of Vacation
Well, we are heading home soon and our vacation will be at an end. It has been a fun time even if there were a few bumps along the way. We decided to do something a little different and the adventure was worth the snags. I think we got a lot of rest and relaxation on this trip. Of course, I am writing this before the long trek home. Black has work and I have school on Monday so the crazy life begins again. I hope the kittens are having fun on their vacation. I miss them a lot. I will have to keep myself busy so that the summer will whiz by...

Food is Still King
I had to wake Momoko up early today. There was a session at the conference that I had to see. And Momoko wanted to eat at a sit down restaurant before heading over to the conference.
So I let Momoko choose the lunch spot. It was this little diner that sponsored the conference. When we got there, we stood in line. The sign said, "Seat yourself." All the tables were full. I tried to encourage the group in front of us to hurry up and sit down in an empty spot. Finally I asked them if we could just go to one of the tables ourselves, seeing as there were plenty of tables they could have already sat at.
Lunch was good. The place was called the Steel City Diner. If you are in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, I highly recommend them. Their prices are reasonable. And the food it good. The ham steak and chicken breast meals are delicious. I advise you to try their potato salad. After that we headed to the conference, where I asked a panel of gamers a bunch of questions.

No PIctures
Dinner Search Failure
We were tired from running around Anthrocon 2009 today. So we headed back to the hotel room. That's when we determined we were also hungry. At first Momoko suggested we visit this close Italian restaurant. I had her Google the restaurant to make sure it was what we wanted. She said the place seemed a bit too formal.
Momoko then found another Italian restaurant that was a little further away. I rested up and agreed to go there. Momoko led the way, as she had figured out the directions. We walked down to the street where the other Italian restaurant was supposed to be. However it was nowhere to be found. The darn thing must have been shut down.
The neighborhood started looking a bit rough. I advised Momoko that we should keep walking. We were getting hungry and settled for a dinner at Arbys. Then we took a chance and tried an alternate route home. We got back to the hotel just as the sun was setting. Then we opted to stay in and watch Dragonball Z on pay per view. Very good movie if I say so.

I am having a tough time uploading pictures to my blog from Momoko's computer. So I will just have to go without pictures until I get home, or learn the secret to posting them from Momoko's Macintosh.
Let me describe the conference me and Momoko are attending this weekend. It centers around animals which behave like humans. For example, Underdog is a highlight of this year's conference. That is mainly because his creator is a guest speaker. However Underdog is an animal that talks and has emotions. There is a formal name for this behavior, but let's not get technical.
Momoko and I were lost in the convention center. A green dinosaur who could have been Yoshi from Mario Brothers told us he could lead us to registration. He got lost himself while trying to guide us. He was sweating under that heavy suit. However a taller blue wolf, who had weapons like Mega Man knew where to go. Unfortunately he was a costumed character that did not speak. He had to use hand motions to let us know he knew where to go. Strange.
Let's hope Momoko gets some pictures of the other furry animals we shall meet at our conference. Here is a teaser. A guy from the set of Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends is another guest this year at the conference.

Alarming Situation
I recently got an iPod touch. I am really not an avid ipod user. When I got the gizmo, Little Kat and Kit had to show me how to use it. I think Little knows more about it than I do. Funny how that works.
Well, I decided to use my iPod as a back up alarm when I was out of town last week. I found out that it does not work if the system is powered down.
Kit told me that she used her iPod as an alarm all the time and I figured I was doing something wrong. As we were waiting for the kitten's flight at the airport yesterday, Kit set the alarm for me to show me how it worked. We got to talking and forgot all about it. It was suppose to go off at 7:45 am, the exact time their flight was leaving. It did not work.
However, this morning at the hotel it was working perfectly. Seems that I had it plugged into my computer, "charging". All I know is that is a heck of a way to be awaken. Black and I thought the front desk was calling but no, it was my ipod alarm. It nearly gave us a heart attack! Thanks Kit for setting the ipod to go off at the crack of dawn (7:45 am) without our knowing!! Either you are an evil genius or a lucky teenager. I love you. Don't worry I disabled the alarm and I hope to have a restful sleep tomorrow...or will I?
